Anyone else looking for a Jacket/Bolero for their wedding dress? Yes, I've googled it.

Sara, on December 3, 2014 at 4:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I'm looking for a bridal jacket/bolero type thing to make my strapless dress...well, not strapless. My dress is lace, so I'm also worried about adding lace on top of lace. How closely should they match? Any one else have this problem? I've been googling all over the place, but I'm not turning up many options.

So far tulip bridal looks like the best option, but they have a really strict return policy which makes me nervous. Otherwise their website seems legit enough. Anyone order from them? How was your experience?

Thank you ladies!

Hi! yes I have seen gorgeous boleros from blossomveils.com. I like beaded boleros on lace to break it up a little instead of lace on lace.

I looked for a bolero for almost a year to match my lace dress. It was almost impossible. They're not very popular and none of the lace designs or colors matched my dress. I'm not trying to discourage you but it was tough (my dress is allure 8958) finally about 2 months before my wedding I went to a dress store down the highway and found cap sleeves that match as close as possible to a long sleeve bolero that I wanted. I'm having the seamstress sew on hook and eyes so the cap sleeves can be removed if I wanted to (wasn't sure if if just wanted the extra coverage for the ceremony or all night). . I even considered a sweater (like kate middleton wore!) It was a rough road but good luck!

I am actually having sleeves sewn onto my dress because I couldn't find one. My dress is satin though, so it is easier than adding lace to lace. Good luck! (I would check Pinterest or Etsy if you haven't done so already).

I have been emailing a woman from Canada on Etsy.com who crotches angora boleros (think Kate Middleton, except I have always worn angora, and love anything sweater related, so the style is just me). My dress is organza, very little beading, mostly plain with some crystals in the detailing. Strapless dress. Getting married in the evening in the Fall in New England, can definitely get chilly. My dress came with a lace bolero but I hate it. Try Etsy for boleros and shrugs.

Do you have a photo of your dress? It may be easier for WW Detectives to look for one if we know what the dress looks like

Thanks ladies! Last night I think I found a couple good options, but I'm just very nervous to order them online. I'm having a hard time imagining what it will look like with my dress.

Maltese, this is my dress, and two jackets that i think might work? I absolutely love the first jacket, but I'm worried the two different lace patterns are going to clash.

I LOVE the second jacket! I think its beautiful! but so is there first one....I wouldn't worry too much about the different lace patterns, I think you just are having a Critical Bride Eye and think it will stand out dramatically but nobody else will think that they weren't meant to be worn together!

Love the second jacket as well!

My experience: I am way short so my seamstress made a full jacket out of the leftover fabric from he bottom of my dress Smiley smile

I recently got married and had a last minute scramble to find a lace jacket. I ended up buying this, which I loved in theory, but ended up just going with my strapless dress. Unfortunately, their return policy is CRAZY (you have to send it back within three days!?) so I am stuck with it. I'll sell it for way less if anyone is interested, it's still in the bag!

JSarge, that is also a very good point. Ugh, this is why I hate shopping online! All shades of ivory and white look the same to me, especially on a computer monitor.

Jess- I know! That's what makes me nervous about ordering from tulip bridal. Is the jacket good quality, at least?
