Anyone else too critical of their work??

Future Mrs. McCully, on June 7, 2019 at 3:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

I just ordered my wedding programs.

I spent.....5 months making them? I made them in like 10 minutes and spent the rest of that time double checking, rechecking and triple checking my work.....I placed the order (BTW Zazzle is having a 60% off sale until June 9th!!!)

I ordered them and I keep looking for mistakes. UGH. I feel like I will look at it every single day until they come in. When they come in I will notice a mistake then. Smiley atonished I am a nervous wreck now.

On a side note....after I placed my order I got an automated phone call telling me there was fraudulent activity on my car and wanted me to give them some information so I hung up and called my bank just to make sure all was good and tell them I authorized the purchase in case that phone call was legit and the lady made me feel like an idiot for calling.....the last thing I need right now is my card to be shut off because of "fraudulent activity" while I have loads of wedding shopping to do tonight.

I think it's natural to second guess certain decisions because we just want them to look nice and they have some semblance of importance. i'm sure yours came out nicely, more than you think.

i am definitely one of those too critical of myself and my work too. i think it's easy for us to forget that we are doing better than we think.

I agree with PP here. But I think it's also important to remember that no matter how hard we work on these things, or how perfect/imperfect we think they are, our guests are not going to notice or care. They'll see a lovely program that goes nicely with the wedding theme. They won't remember 6 months later how perfect/imperfect your wedding programs were. They aren't going to stop speaking to you because your wedding program didn't perfectly coordinate with the escort cards or other details. lol

We are the only ones obssessing on this level about the little things. So, try not to freak yourself out too badly. The important thing is you're marrying the one you love. Let yourself enjoy it a little!

I also agree with PP here.

I also understand your issue with the bank. I had to order a bridesmaid dress from Azazie and my bank at the time had them flagged as fraudulent so I had to call my bank in order to authorize a payment to them. Which was 3 times just for that order, 2 for sample dresses to try on then for my final dress. The lady I spoke with made me feel awful about ordering from them. I think her wording was "are sure this is a legitimate site." Like seriously I just want to get this done with and I am authorizing it so yes! My old bank has since merged with another bank and I have much better customer service now. I ordered my color swatches from Azazie without issue, but was so nervous about them flagging my card I called the bank first. They were much nicer to me that time!

    Thank you all!

I know that none of my guests will care about or notice any imperfections but I know that I will.

And I know the day of the wedding literally none of it will matter but up until that day I will be stressing about any possible mistakes I made lol

I think it is just hitting me harder because I am down to 33 days and any mistakes I make right now are mistakes that will be staying because I just have no time to fix anything.
