Anyone got their deposits back?

Hi everyone, COVID-19 bride here... Our wedding is supposed to be in September and with everything taking so long to open up, we are thinking of postponing. We don’t have a date yet, and I am not sure if all of our wedding dream team would be available on the new date. I know wedding contracts are very one sided (favoring the vendor) and deposits are usually not refundable, BUT considering the unique situation we are in, are vendors giving deposits back? Would not seem right if they didn’t considering it’s a national disaster...

Hi Katerina! Each situation is unique and depends entirely on the terms of your contract. If there are still government restrictions in place that prevent your vendors from fulfilling the terms of your contract on September 6th, then it could definitely be possible to push for a refund over postponement. But it would be very difficult to get non-refundable deposits back this early!
