Anyone have dark nails for their wedding day?

Hi! I'm having a vow renewal in September and I'm super stuck on my nails. I'm wearing an ivory dress because I never got to wear a wedding dress, but my colors are burgandy and black which are my husband and I's favorite colors. I've gotten trial runs of neutral nail colors and it's just not me. I've been doing some research and a lot of forums and posts are saying you shouldn't do dark nail colors because it takes away from your dress in the photos. I'm just feeling very conflicted because my gut is saying go with what you love and then I'm also afraid of our photos being ruined because of my dark nails. I included a picture of what I'm thinking about doing. I do burgandy glitter whenever I do get my nails done and I love them every single time and never get tired of them. Anyone have dark nails for their wedding day? 1

I love this color 😍 it looks gorgeous!! I’d say do what you feel is best. I don’t think dark nails will ruin your photos.

My best friend had dark purple nails on her wedding day and she loved them! There’s not right or wrong!

If you ARE worried about dark nails taking away from the dress, many of your shots will be holding a bouquet so your nails will blend into the bouquet!

I also don’t think you will notice your nails too much in Candid shots during the reception.

Hi Ashleigh. If this is you, then I think you should go with it. In the future, you'll look back and say you were distinctly yourself on your wedding day. You and husband did pick moody/ sexy wedding colors after all. I also think black is neutral, professional even but maybe best with short nails. Your burgundy is beautiful.

Go with what you want, not what people think you should want. Personally, my nails will be black. My dress is also mostly black, but I haven't worn a nail color that wasn't black in over 5 years. Sometimes I have a color added to the black (like gold) but its always always black. It wouldn't be me without it.
You should still feel like you, regardless of the event. So if the dark nails speak to you (and those are GORGEOUS) then go with it!

Do what feels like "you"! Other than close up pictures of your hands/ fingers with rings on, your nails won't be such a huge focus that they'll steal the show, and even if they do, it's YOUR show to steal lol.

Do what YOU want to do. So if you don’t want French, don’t do French. I love the dark nails. I am also planning on “not French” nails for my wedding but haven’t settled in a color yet.

I had a true red nail for my wedding (colors were burgundy and navy, but a brighter red was calling me on my mail day). I just went through my photos and confirmed that you cannot see my nails in any of them. The bouquet or my husbands hand is obscuring them in literally every photo.

I just saw Say Yes to the Dress ep.1 this year and saw a bride with colored (black) french tip. Looked great while in her white dress. Could this be an option? Still think you should be yourself.
