Anyone have the VS Bombshell add 2 cups bra?Torn between that and maybe getting cups sewn in dress

Alexis, on March 15, 2015 at 9:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

Hello!

So Im a 34D so I have boobage haha but they are in some serious need of lifting. I personally love Victorias Secret and their bras so I know the bras are great and all, I am just not sure If I should just spend the $50 and order the bra or wait when I do get my dress altered(July so I have some time) and see if I can just get the cups sewn in. Do the cups sewn in seem to give you cleavage though? Id like some lift and to fill out up top on my dress a little more thats where its a tad loose. Thanks!! Smiley smile

Nooooo don't get the bra. Get a normal VS padded bra. I got a VS Bombshell bra by accident (34D here as well) and it actually looks ridiculously big. A normal VS padded bra should do the trick, but yes just adding in cups and getting the dress tailored should provide sufficient "lift" as well

I bought one bombshell just to try it and I HATE it!! I buy the Very Sexy Push Up collection so I went back and bought a set of those in the same type of color. I still have the bombshell, but I never touch it and it still has the tags on it. It was just WAY too much boob and it looked so fake. The Very Sexy's are awesome at lift and they are padded, too so they look great. I recommend those instead.

ETA: I'm a 32B so I thought I wanted to look a bit bigger. My H also hated it and told me to take it off because it made me look super weird.

It depends on the style of the bra. The cups will not necessarily lift your boobs it just makes them fill out the dress. To lift you will want padded. The bombshell is definitely a lot of padding and if you already have a bigger top it may be too much. I would recommend getting a padded one with a balcony shape as it tends to lift up more instead of just making them look bigger. You can google balcony push up bra if you don't know what I'm talking about.

To add I like VS very sexy i think? Good amount of padding- definitely worth going into a store and trying on a few options if you normally don't shop there

I'm a 36A and the Bombshell hurts like a mofo. I couldn't imagine having even more boob weight on those straps. I would look into other bras or just ask your seamstress what to do.

I just bought that bra & I love it! I'm a C & it definitely gives me some lift. I wanted it because my dress fits a little loose at the top and I didn't think there was any reason to get it altered if a bra could fix it! I would suggest at least trying it on though!

I have it. The only time I wear it is if I'm wearing one of my dresses that is a little too big up top and I need to fill it out. (Big butt, small boobs. Pain in the ass dress shopping.) I'm only a B cup tho to begin with. I wouldn't recommend it. I feel weird every time I wear it.

I tried on the 2 cups sizes one once and it looked completely ridiculous! It just makes you stick out more and looks silly and disproportionate. I also am with the others, I like the VS Very Sexy Push up and I just got last week the Incredible which is super comfortable and doesn't have an uncomfortable wire and gave me the best cleavage (and I'm a 32 C, I don't get much cleavage ever). If you go to VS, just ask someone there for a bra box, they basically give you a box with all different types of bras for you to try on. You can also be more specific like if you know you need strapless or you know you want push up. I just went in last weekend and they gave me like 6 different push up options. Also they have a deal going on right now if you buy 2 bras you get a $15 reward card. I personally am getting cups sewn into my dress because I didn't want to deal with a bra that could slide down or dig into me, but if you do go with a bra from VS you'll have a better idea at least of how it'll look beforehand.

I'm in between a 36d and 36dd. I tried in the bombshell once for shits and gigs and it looked sooo ridiculous. If you just need lift I would get s regular push up bra from vs. I like the very sexy and dream angels I think it's called.

OK Thanks! I will look more into those other VS options.Where I live there isn't a VS near me, but I have ordered from them online a ton so I may give it a shot and return if it doesn't work out.

Yep, I agree with the above. If you're not teeny tiny up top, it looks pretty ridiculous. A friend actually wore one as part of a Dolly Parton costume once...

Have you had your first dress fitting yet? If not, speaking from experience, I'd say wait until you do. I'm also a 34D, purchased an ultra lift convertible bustier bra (longline) by Va Bien for my strapless dress (absolutely love it, by the way), brought it to my first dress fitting and I liked the dress WITHOUT it. Best advice is to not worry about the minor expense (my now-unused VaBien is $85), try all of your options, then go with the look and feel you love. Best of luck!!
