Anyone knows what's a good microphone/pa system to buy?

I had a similar issue trying to source a speaker/mic set for my outdoor rehearsal dinner! I ended up purchasing a large Sony Bluetooth speaker from Best Buy and a cheap microphone ($20). Both great quality and although the speaker is pricey, I like that we own it and can keep using it for years! Forgot to add: I would not recommend purchasing anything by or from Rockville Audio. Originally purchased a speaker set from them that never arrived, and apparently thats a common occurrence with them. Good luck!

The options on the Amazon link would be for an outdoor system and 10" (or bigger) speaker. The systems less than $170 probably would work only for your living room. Maybe check with Guitar Center or other music equipment place for recommendations. You may like bluetooth for connecting to a cell phone. But I think you already got that idea.

Were you wanting Karaoke or just the amplification system?

We just used a big sound core speaker connected to an ipad via bluetooth and wireless mic from walmart. I'm sure it was under $200 all together. We opened up the speaker before the wedding and used it several times over the summer, its so nice to have.

It plugged right into the speaker, so we just had to turn down or pause the iPad when we used the mic

You then would want an omnidirectional mic (if you have a choice). But there probably is a system with a wireless mic included.
