Our date is Sept 19 in NC. We are not postponing but will downsize the guest list if needed! Luckily our venue is mostly outdoors and has a much larger capacity than the 120ish guests we’re inviting. Well probably space the seating a little more, and we’re eliminating food stations and doing plated dinners instead. I’m hopeful that everything can go as planned by then!

This is what we decided to do! Even with things opening up half of our guests would end up not coming because they don’t feel comfortable and I don’t want to put anyone’s health at risk. So we will still get married July 4th like planned and then have a vow renewal with a big reception next June!

Yes! I had a decent number (about 40) of RSVP’s that were almost evenly split and the rest didn’t even respond, which is fair. It’s not the most popular decision within our families but it’s what we want to do and we are happy with our decision.

Hey Elle, I am also in Southeastern Pa with an August 21 date. My Fiance and I want to go ahead with our wedding and believe the venue and vendors will be able to move forward. Our only concern is possibly guests feeling reluctant to attend because of unease being in a large crowd. Are you finding your guests are still willing to attend or are some of them wanting extra safety precautions?

We decided to postpone our large ceremony with all of our family and friends from September 19 this year to September next year. We are just worried about a large second wave ruining things in the fall for us this year. We are having a small family-only wedding at the end of this June though.

Hi Sarah. I know some of my guests are reluctant and probably will not attend. That is fine. We have an insert saying that if guests are uncomfortable attending, we completely understand. Our insert also has a soft date in case we do postpone. But there are guests who are not uncomfortable, since people are already RSVP-ing. I guess I just look at it as, people who want to attend will, and people who don't want to won't, and that's ok.

We have postponed our 7/10 wedding in Northern NJ to 10/1. Now our next big lift is the honeymoon to Greece, which was already booked. Luckily the accommodations have been very flexible, but our airline is still charging us a change fee. I'm reluctant to commit to an October overseas travel date, so may postpone our honeymoon until next July.

Did the venue fight over giving back the deposit? Our wedding was scheduled for June 28.

I ask about it because this was something we couldn’t help and didn’t foresee anything like covid happening when we booked. We had a contract and it said in there after 14 days of booking you couldn’t get it back. I’m not ok with losing the $350, but I would have rather lost that much as the $2100 we paid for the venue. Our new venue is in a family friends yard on the lake for free so I’m not complaining. After starting the planning for our new venue in March it has actually meant so much more to me and my FH because there is a lot of history on the lake we are getting married on. We use to fish fishing tournaments together when we were in high school and that’s the lake I caught my biggest fish on and when he proposed that’s the same spot he took me too on Valentine’s Day. It was an awesome proposal more than I could have ever expected lol.

What? Why no Groom's posting?? I think I'm more into the planning than my bride lol! Ours is scheduled for August 8th in Louisiana. We are going forward with it as planned. Louisiana currently is in phase one, which allows out venue to have 77 guests with adhering to CDC guidelines. Louisiana is expecting to go to phase two on June 5th, which would allow our venue 165 guests. We are going to have Sanitizer stations and provide masks for those that don't have one if they do not feel comfortable. I'll be so happy when all this stress and planning is over with!

Not now. Ohio allows up to 300 people effective June 1st but it must follow social distance guidelines: tables six feet apart and no congregating.....no dancing. Smiley sad

I'm in Indiana and we're in Stage 3 (which means gatherings of up to 100 people with safety restrictions), though my county is still in Stage 1 (which means gatherings of up to 10 with safety restrictions). But I'm hopeful things will continue to improve and things will be back to normal by October. Or we'll have a wedding with 10 people!

I’m curious about this as well! I am in Western New York and we are set to get married 9/4/20 and as of now there are no plans to postpone. Our venue is confident we should be ok! We are entering phase 2 on Tuesday. If all goes according to plan, we should be in phase 4 and hopefully out of phase 4 by September.

Here in Buffalo NY we can’t do anything yet. We should be in Phase 2 by next week but venue says we will have to social distance and have masks worn. Original date was June 6th then moved to August 22nd. We finally moved to Feburary 20th 2021! Last and final date!

I didn’t postpone my wedding I was just stressed because I planned everything to a T it was just my marriage license that was the inconvenience but I was able to get it two days before my wedding. And lucky the justice of peace was still marrying couple during this time she was excellent she came to my house and did a small backyard wedding which I loved. I’m happy I didn’t postpone because I had the date May 22nd, 2020 for the past five months in my head.
