Hello I was wondering if anyone else are not feeling the whole veil look? And if you didn't wear one did you regret it later looking back on pictures. For me I didn't like the way I looked in a veil and thinking maybe just a hair clip will look good with the hairstyles I want ( I'll insert pic...

Hello I was wondering if anyone else are not feeling the whole veil look? And if you didn't wear one did you regret it later looking back on pictures. For me I didn't like the way I looked in a veil and thinking maybe just a hair clip will look good with the hairstyles I want ( I'll insert pic ideas) . Thank you have a good weekend

I was debating wear a veil...went through all the different veil lengths and looked at tons of pictures. Finally decided that I was going to do a blusher instead.

I didn't think I would want a veil until the consultant brought a few out to try....o fell in love with a gorgeous beaded veil that compliments my dress perfectly! Plus it was clearance priced for $50! Sold!

I always knew I would wear a veil, but the first one I tried on had the blusher and I immediately said no. It felt weird and awkward.

I settled on a cathedral length veil that compliments my dress beautifully and lace all around and no blusher.

I do wish I had shopped around for veils more- I ended up spending a good chunk when I could have probably purchased it for cheaper elsewhere. I've told my friends and sisters they're invited to use my veil if they wish so it at least drives down the cost per wear!

I'm not wearing a veil because of what it symbolizes historically. This doesn't bother many people but I've always felt that when we let the old patriarchal traditions continue then the patriarchy still has a hold on us.

I did try on a veil while dress shopping at the insistence of my FMIL and didn't like the way they looked on me or made me feel. I'll be doing some sort of flower in my hair and wearing my natural curls so I don't want to cover them up.

I didn't wear one for our first look photos or for the reception, but I did wear one for the ceremony. It was a good compromise for me.

This also depends on your headpiece. If you wear a pretty comb with one side up, you may want to leave the veil out. If you wear a tiara, you may want to wear a veil (for the ceremony anyway) or else you're going to look like a pageant girl and not a bride.

I didn't wear one. I wore 2 hair pieces instead: a comb in the back and a vine in place of a headband (my hair was half up, half down, curled)

I'm not wearing one, and I'm planning on doing hair/clip similar to what you posted Smiley smile. I feel like a veil would just drive me nuts and catch on the beading of my gown.

I'm not wearing a veil. Instead I'm having my grandmother's brooch in my hair. I think it's a good way to remember her on our wedding day

I've had the same question. I didn't want to wear one until the bridal salon stylist put one on me. Then I thought I really wanted to. Since we are having an outdoor wedding I am going to pass on it. I was speaking with my FH's coworkers wife at a Christmas party on Friday night and she asked to see a picture of my dress. I showed her the picture with the veil on and she said it looked beautiful and that the veil was amazing. I told her I wasn't going to wear it and she literally had such a relief and said "oh thank god." I asked her what she meant by it and she said that she actually regrets wearing her veil for her outside wedding. She wore a cathedral length veil, which is what I had on in the photo, and she said the entire time walking down the aisle instead of focusing on her husband she thought about her veil and it being caught on things. It actually did end up getting caught on something outside and it ripped out of her hair as she walked down the aisle. She was diss appointed that her memory of walking down the aisle was not an emotional one looking at her husband, but rather anxiety and stress over her veil. While I was pretty sure I wasn't going to wear one before I spoke with her, but her story certainly confirmed that I'll going to pass on it!

I'm wearing one. To me, it completes my look. I'm wearing a cathedral length just for the ceremony and will take it off and have a clip in for the reception. I think it goes well with my dress, but I know veils are not for everyone. If you don't want to wear one then don't. Do what feels most comfortable to you

I liked the open cathdral veils on me. The ones that don't cover the face. Im getting it for free otherwise I might not have bought it. Plan to take it off during reception. I may buy a cheap one that does cover the face just for photos because I like the ethereal look in pictures.

I went without a veil because of the back of my dress, plus a veil just wasn't for me.
