Did they cancel four weddings? I used to watch that show from time to time but got bored with it because I never thought I would have a wedding haha. Anyone else remember this show? I hope they bring it back soon. I love watching stuff about weddings! They used to post the brides budget as well, and...

@centerpiece I definitely missed the Saran Wrap episode! That's insane! And I do agree that there was always an issue with the food. The brides would complain so much

I enjoyed the aspect of 4 weddings that we got to see 4 brides and their very different styles. I did not like that everyone was so judgy and were never happy. I prefer to see the planning shows- David Tutera's show or that old show "Whose Wedding Is it Anyway" (although that had a ton of drama). I like to see as much of the planning side as the actual wedding.

My FH and I love Four Weddings. I enjoy seeing how different weddings can be and was looking forward to watching it with a new eye once we got engaged. Unfortunately, there has only been one new season since then - we were really looking forward to getting ideas/inspiration.

It was always nice when the most supportive bride won the honeymoon!

I love Four Weddings! I actually didn't like the episodes that had wedding or event planners as brides because they sometimes had an advantage and I didn't think it was fair. I do love seeing all the different weddings and some of the food looks great. There are some brides on there that are so sweet that you just want them to win and other that you hope don't.

I keep looking for the episode with Celia.

I watched and it seemed they complained when the food was either cold or bland. I could understand the cold, but there was always salt and pepper on the tables to deal with the bland. I realized that most of the brides were going to complain no matter what.

I do remember the Saran episode. I personally thought that was an great solution. They on the other hand thought it was tacky.

My favorite episode was the woman who had never been to a wedding and used Four Weddings to plan hers. She actually won. I loved it.

I'm super excited about it's return. Even though the girls were always ridiculous I loved seeing their weddings and dancing relatives! Smiley smile

I'm so sad they haven't been showing it in a while. I like SYTTD, but Four Weddings is way better. @Celia, now I have to go find the first episode!

Love that show - Another TLC show that I liked was "Weddings in Vieques" it was only on for 1 season I think. It was about a wedding planner that tells it like it is. I actually spoke with her when i wanted a DW wedding and boy she's expensive!

My biggest peeve with Four Weddings is that they say that whole "in order to prevent the brides from giving the other brides low scores to better their own chances of winning..." Script thing and they still do it anyway and it's obvious. I mean they will rant and rave about the food and then when it comes down to the score they are all like "I gave this wedding a 4 because there was nothing special about it and the food was just ok" umm what? Lol

I watched Curvy Brides on Friday and I loved it! The shop is in Columbia, MD which isn't far from where I am so now I'm thinking..... lol. Four Weddings was so predictable. They were always going to low ball the other brides, food was always an issue, and even the tiniest issue with the ceremony was a gigantic problem. I saw a venue I was going to use on there and the wedding was beautiful but the left out that the venue coordinator was kind of an ass. Oh well. Lol

I watched Curvy Brides as that's where I bought my dress. I'm honestly not that impressed with the show. It's half an hour and I think that is just too short to really tell a story. I did love 4 weddings, although I do remember the brides being super catty. My mom is obsessed with all the wedding shows on TLC. It's all she does.

The thing with Four Weddings (and David Tutera, and Say Yes to the Dress, etc) is that they set unrealistic expectations for women getting married. On Four Weddings, when I see that one bride is having a $10k wedding ($10k is a lot of money to most people!!!) and the other three brides are having $50k weddings, I think, oh, how sad, they are going to pick on the $10k wedding. And they are almost always petty, mean, and catty.

Same with David Tutera telling brides that their ideas are tacky (oh wait, doesn't he have a bunch of cheap plastic stuff at Michaels now, too, made in China?), or it being a stretch for Kleinfields to find a dress for a bride for less than $2k.

It's your wedding. It's a celebration of the next part of your life journey. It can be a picnic in the park, a reception in the backyard, or it could be a big lush affair at a hotel or country club. Don't compare your day to others, and don't buy into those shows. Those shows are just as upsetting as magazines and tv showing so incredibly thin models that it distorts womens' body images. Don't let the shows distort what your wedding should be, or that you have to buy everything and the best of everything.

That said, I do watch (because I love weddings) but I scoff at the meanness, and just enjoy each of their days.

I watched it for a while to get some ideas. I enjoyed it, but not the mean spirited nature of it. I get that it's a competition, but still. I would never be on it because there's no way I would waste three invitations on some strangers when I have enough guest list issues. lol
