Anyone use honeyfund?

Amber, on May 3, 2020 at 9:07 PM Posted in Registry 0 10
If so has your experience been good and simple to use for both giving and receiving?
Or do you have a recommendation for another honeymoon fund registry?

I didn’t use honey fund but I used Zola for a honeymoon registry. With any honeymoon registry just be mindful there’s a transaction fee

I saw on honeyfund it’s 2.4% (per transaction? I think) to deposit into your bank.

I really love the idea of a Honeymoon Fund! My FH & I already live together and have everything we need, so we’re not registering for gifts. My only thing is we’re having a destination wedding, and I don’t feel too great about asking everyone to pay for their traveling + chip in for our honeymoon fund. Going to think about it for a while. But, if we do move forward, we’re using The Knot’s fund link!

Yeah or another thing you could do is Ask people for travel gift cards like for Airbnb or southwest, for instance. And I find people are more into buying you activities for the honeymoon than giving money to the general cash fund.

This is honestly why I feel like they are unneccessary. While this may vary by region, people typically give cash or a check as their gift at weddings around me. You will get maybe 1 person who brings a physical gift at a wedding. If all you want is cash, I would just skip the registry altogether and people will default to cash, which you can spend on anything you like without any transaction fees involved in the gift exchange.

We are using honeyfund. It was pretty easy to set it all up and then I did a test transaction and it was easy enough to “purchase” too. We set it so that we pay the small fee versus our guests paying it. We chose a honeyfund for experiences. It isn’t really to pay for our honeymoon but just to add some experiences that we wouldn’t probably do on our own dime. We are in our 40s and have everything we need so a regular registry just didn’t make sense. If anyone uses our honeyfund, great. If not, that’s ok too.

We used the Knot's cash registry, which had a very low fee, and no limits on how often we could transfer, which we liked.

We got a lot of cards/checks, but a lot of people in our generation (millennials) liked giving on the registry. This way they could gift us an "experience" or something like that.

It depends on your crowd, and what you want from the service.

We used it! Easy. Convenient. The fee is tiny. It links easily to a regular registry (we did very small lists at BBB & Macy’s), so you can just tell people Honeyfund and let them decide (if you want a small retail registry).

I totally understand we are having a destination wedding as well. I figure I would ask for gifts at all and just accept whatever is given by whoever wants to give. But I also thought about possibly trying to figure out how to maybe register for things at the resort like candle light dinner for two or couples massage a beach cabana or even a excursion that people can pay for as a gift. If people still want to get us something.
