Anyone using Calla Lily flowers for bouquet...?

MRS_TB627, on December 21, 2014 at 6:49 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

Hello ladies! I want to use calla lily flowers for my bridal bouquets (artificial of course) but I don't know where to find high quality flowers. I'm hoping to use cream colored flowers. The flowers at hobby lobby have a rubber feel. I'm looking for some that look realistic but don't break the bank. Anyone have any suggestions or can tell me where they bought theirs? If anyone has DIY'd their bouquets using calla lily flowers please feel free to post a picture Smiley smile

Have you looked at Michael's silk flowers? Every season they have 60% off sales on all silk flowers...

My bridesmaids will be having calla lily bouquets. I was going to DIY them and bought real touch flowers from Hobby Lobby, but once the flowers kinda withered and yellowed after a month of being in a bag I decided to go a different route and have someone on Etsy make them.

Here's an Etsy seller I found:

That sounds like a great price Stephanie!! I haven't decided on flowers just yet, but calla lilies are on my radar. Let us know what you find!

I did the fake calli lily for my friends bouquet and they turned out beautiful. I bought mine at Hobby Lobby and they didn't turn yellow. Two years later they are still as beautiful as the day I made them

Don't calla lilies represent death? Not judging, just curious.

I'm hoping to do my wedding with red roses, black lilies, and possibly white calla lilies. I've never heard anything about them representing death, although I think with my zombie theme that would still be ok. They're just my favorite flower, ever since I was a kid. Haven't started looking into it though .

White lilies (especially the White Stargazer) are most often associated with death and are often seen at wakes and funerals (traditionally, they represent the soul's return to innocence upon its departure). Callas aren't traditionally a death flower, but they are seen at funerals as well. Actually, callas aren't even really lilies.

I ordered mine from dongdeplastic.com They are excellent and I paid very little. It took about a month to get but I think they feel and look better than the ones at hobby lobby. I have other pics of bridesmaids if you want to see.
