Anyone using fairy lights?

Mrs. DeNigris, on May 1, 2017 at 4:34 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

I had the brilliant idea of adding fairy lights into our centerpieces to give it some pizzazz, and I fell in love with it, but now what the heck do I do about the battery pack? :-P

Maybe some foliage around it like eucalyptus? Can you put the battery pack inside the jar in the middle of all the lights? I would think that they would shine so brightly that you would not be able to see it.

I bought some fairy lights to try them out in the chimney vases I have, and ran into the same problem. I think what I'll do is put the battery pack in the bottom of the base and then glue some ribbon or lace around the bottom to hide it. Not sure if that would work for yours since the vase looks patterned and shorter... someone had suggested to me to use moss to cover it. Maybe something like that could work?

I was going to use fairy lights and opted not to for this reason! Plus for how many tables we will have it was going to be costly!

My florist is using them as well under my bird cage centerpieces, I am seeing them for the first time next month. I think she plans to let eucalyptus hang down and cover the vase

Try to stick them in the flowers. It may push the out a little but no one will know they are there

We're buying ones with very small battery packs like @Kristen posted. Hoping the candles will cover them. If that doesn't work we may try some floral gems or beads.

My dad built wood boxes to set the centerpieces on top of. I will be hiding the battery packs underneath those.

I went to a wedding once where they did something similar but hid the battery pack by using tulle inside the vase that matched their colors. I think how you hide it might depend on the feel you're going for with the centerpieces too because the wedding I went to was very laid back so the tulle fit right in. Keep us updated with what you choose to do!

Try putting it inside the vase. If it can be seen through the vase maybe add greenery or vase filler beads etc.

I did this. Got the lights on amazon with tiny battery packs, then put it at the bottom of the jar. Added clear vase filler gems to cover it up! Looked great.
