Anyone using rack cards as wedding programs?

Monica SC, on February 25, 2015 at 1:00 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

I was undecided on the whole wedding program thing, but my MOH's son really wants something to do in the wedding since he will be there, but is too old to be a ring bearer. I was thinking if we had programs he could hand those out-he would enjoy that. I was looking on Zazzle tonight and those mugs (the rack cards) are only 45 cents each-that's a steal! I also have a 25% off code so they would be even less than that.

Sorry, what's a rack card?? I think it would be nice if you want to include him to have him pass out programs Smiley smile How old is he? Could he be an usher? (unless you have them picked out already) Or a guest book attendee (that's what my cousin had my mom and aunt do at her wedding, and I'm having FSistersIL do it for mine bc I wanted to include them)

ETA I googled rack card, it's a very long card?

I haven't decided what I am doing for programs yet but I think rack cards would work great. And that is a great deal!

I am using rack cards. we are doing an outdoor, nontraditional ceremony so i figured it would help everyone get through the ceremony. I went with vistaprint, but they are still really nice and it was so much more inexpensive that the traditional ceremony programs. I dont have that much to put on them so i just did a small welcome message, order of events on the front and the parents, bridal party, and small tidbit about the reception on the back

I'm using them on each place setting ad menu on front and thank you on back.

Programs can be weird, everyone knows the bride and groom and what's happening

We are having programs as well! I went to Michaels and bought ones that I can just print out on the computer and assemble. The son of our best man and one of the bridesmaids will be passing them out as well as my godson.

@ Kassie. Yes, rack cards are very long cards (4" x 9"). My MOH's son will be just shy of 12 at the time of the wedding. We are not having ushers.

The programs will include the names of the wedding party. Just because people know me and my FH husband doesn't mean they know the best man, my MOH, the officiant, FH's parents, or the flower girl, etc. That's why I like a program. We won't be doing readings or anythings like that, but I think people like to know what to expect during the service and how long it will last.

@ Julia T....here's a pic of my table "Thank you" cards. I saw an example on Pinterest and recreated it with my Silhouette software.

The last pic is an actual rack card from Zazzle. They perfectly match my wedding invitations and RSVP postcards.
