Apps for saving money?

Are you using anything special to help set money aside for your big day? A app? Savings account? Piggy bank??

I've used the Acorns app in the past to save for vacations, but it's not worth the headache around tax time since you're technically buying and selling stock. It basically rounds up any purchases on your debit card to the next dollar and saves the change. For example, if you spend $4.75 at Starbucks, it will round it up to $5 and put the $0.25 in your Acorns account.

For wedding savings, we've just changed our direct deposit so that a certain percentage of our paycheck goes directly to savings. I find that I miss the money a little less when I never see it in the first place.

Ebates! Since I signed up with them I've earned a couple hundred dollars. That was 2 1/2 years ago so it's not much, but I love getting my Big Fat Checks in the mail!

We have what we call the hat fund...it's literally just a hat we keep a money clip in Haha. Easier than having to transfer money from each of our accounts into a separate account and much less tempting to spend!

Oh also, if you use chrome on your computer install the honey extension. It automatically applies all the best promo codes for shopping online!

FH puts a certain % of each paycheck aside into a savings account, he also put his Christmas bonus into it. I have an with my inheritance $ that we’ve been using for everything so far.

I really like Acorns! It's an easy way to save. You can contribute monthly more, but it rounds up all your purchases on your card and puts it in an investment account. I've never put money in besides my round ups and I saved about $500 in a year and it was only linked to my debit card.

I didn't find it hard for taxes. Granted, I don't have a lot in my Acorns (like $500) but when they sent me the tax form it added an extra 4 minutes I'd say to my taxes. My fiance's took about 10 minutes since he has way more in his, but it didn't really seem difficult.

In addition to my own rigorous savings plan. I also use Qapital (app). They have many different options, currently I'm doing the 52 week plan which starts at $52 down to $1 weekly. It comes out to $1300 and change for the year. I'll use that to pay for my bridesmaids makeup.

Our bank account has a goal amount that breaks it down to how much we need to save weekly between us. We try to exceed it each week. Definitely pick a budget first.
