April ‘22 Brides: How are your timelines going?

Christy, on January 11, 2022 at 7:40 AM Posted in Planning 3 8
I’ve had a working timeline for several months now, but as time draws near, I’ve started re-examining it. Photography is giving me the biggest headache because I hate taking photos & I know it will be stressful for me. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can really cut down much on the time I’m giving her. I figured I’d just let her know if I can’t take any more haha. How is everyone else doing?

Honestly I haven’t even started with the day of timeline! We have times for all events but I have a wedding coordinator and she will handle timelines. I think we will go over that in a few weeks

Our timelines are very similar. I’m not doing a 1st look or open dancing. My photographer allotted 1 hr 15 min for my bridal/bridal party photos & only 30 minutes for groom & his party. I’m still trying to figure that out. I’d like to cut my photo time down to 45 minutes because taking pics is so mentally draining for me. I feel like I’ll be grouchy right before my ceremony lol.

Ah. Do you have a shot list for your photographer? It’s typical to have the bride with her parents, whole family, singles with family, generational ladies, and bride with her bridesmaids together and singles. Whereas the groom may have some with the whole family and his groomsmen together and individually. So depending on how big your family and bridal party are, that’s what will add time. Usually photographers have a sample shot list, but they can use whatever list you provide if you don’t want singles with each family member. I would love to not have to smile for hours on end, so I’m lucky that my two sisters are also my bridesmaids. Shortened that list.

We are supposed to discuss the shot list soon. I have a small family & general disinterest in having formal family portraits (prefer candids), especially without the groom. So, I think that should cut down on my photo time for me. My photographer has that hour blocked off only for pictures of me alone & me & my bridesmaids though. Pretty sure that should take no more than 20-30 minutes. But I also didn’t consider that some of that time might be padding in case of delay.

I definitely want a few solo shots in my dress, but I don’t want any getting ready photos. And I much prefer candids myself, though they aren’t guaranteed. It sounds like you’re ready to talk about the shot list and get it widdled down. I’m excited for you!

I am sooo glad that, I've seen some of your time lines because I was completely lost on what it should look like. This had helped soo much. One thing I wanted to try was wedding guests games, has anyone added that to their timelines or even thought of it or is it just me🤔?
