April Fool's Day Wedding??

TashaMac, on July 19, 2016 at 6:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 28

So the date that I wanted(4/8/17) is not available at the venue that I just fell in love with. Looking for another venue is not an option. This place is perfect. Every Sat in Apr/ May/ June is already booked, except for April 1st!! Fridays are also not an option. Sundays kind of don't give us enough time to prep/setup/decorate b/c there are Weddings on Saturday. I don't wanna get married on April Fool's Day! I think I'll always regret it if I do, but then again I think I'm making a big deal about nothing. What do y'all think? Would you?

    I would take it especially if I was in love with it. When we fell in love with our venue, we took the only date they had left in that year. Why would you regret it on that date? It will be forever your wedding date, not april fools day to you.

    My former in-laws were married on April Fool's Day. If it bothers you, work something else out. If not, embrace it!

    If that is the only day available and Sunday's wont work for you I would embrace it. It would no longer be considered April Fools it would be your wonderful wedding day and anniversary.

    This has the potential for so many memorable jokes, love it! Embrace it with humor, it's not a date anyone will forget Smiley smile

    My parents got engaged on April Fool's, mom thinks it's the most deliciously hilarious thing ever.

    If that's your only option I say go for it! FH tried to convince me to do ours on the 1st, but he is such a jokester I had to veto it. Plus the off season food pricing at our venue is only available thru the end of March!

    I wouldn't just because with as big of a jokester as DF is, his family would probably get the invitations and think we were joking. -_-;;;;

    I would just do it. Or what about the last weekend in March of you really don't want April 1st?

    I'd definitely embrace it! You could be silly like pp's suggested with your song choices, decorations, etc. Maybe something like "the joke's on us".

    I'm getting married April 1, too! I really don't think it's a huge deal, FH is well aware there should be no pranks but I like the lighthearted nature of the day. We are pretty goofy so it fits us.

    My cousin is planning an April Fool's Wedding. We're not close so I have no idea how she's doing it, but her theme is "Fools For Love"

    I'm already picturing the save the dates: "it's no joke - we're getting married!" It's cute!

    If it's the only date available I say go for it. It's not a big deal.
