April wedding

I’m planning on postponing my December 24 2020 wedding to April 10 2021 in New Jersey. What do you guys think how the situation will be by then since the cases are rising as of now. Also if not April what month will be more appropriate?

No one knows. America seems to be having different waves of covid. Every region is different as well. It is hard to predict when it will be more "appropriate". If you want to get married during the pandemic, downsize and have a covid compliant wedding. If not, you may have to postpone again. I postponed from April to September thinking that would be long enough but it was the same situation. I wish I had postponed a year out the first time. My advice would be to postpone as far out as you can that works for your venue and vendors. Good luck!

My friend works closely with a major health system in the US and they’re preparing and estimating restrictions for the next 18 months. But it’s so hard to say... I think it would be a good idea to talk it over with the FH and see what is most important to you guys.

I think that April will be better than it is now although there will still be restrictions. What is your guest count? I think that plays a huge part. If it's over 100 I would postpone till later because I don't think restrictions will allow that many people

It looks like a vaccine won’t be available to the general public until April at the earliest. If you’re already postponing, I’d go longer - September at the earliest. This thing is not going away quickly.

If you are not willing to have a scaled down version of your wedding, then honestly your safest bet is to just avoid 2021 altogether.

I’m guessing restrictions will still be in place for April 2021 since the vaccine will likely just be becoming available for the general public. We’re planning to majorly downsize for our April wedding. I’d push out as far as you can if you’re hoping for something big!
