April/may brides

What’s everyone doing for wedding plans coming up? My wedding is supposed to be 4/20 and we’re not sure if we should postpone our wedding for a different date or just keep going and only have 50 or less people at a wedding where we were expecting roughly 100. It wouldn’t feel right without certain people there (including officiant and one of the bridal party members), but we know in the end all that matters is that we end up married. What is everyone else doing during this insane time?

I really don't know! We're 10 weeks out from our date and the CDC is saying no gatherings of more than 50 for the next 8 weeks, but I just don't know what's going to happen next.

I'm in the same boat as you, we planned on and invited around 75 and there are people that it just won't be the same without, who would actually be flying in for the wedding. I don't want to postpone but I don't know what any of our vendors are going to do as it gets closer to the date.

We have a 60 person wedding planned for May 16th. I am so torn! At this point I think Id rather just have a small ceremony with our parents and cancel the larger reception. I am so torn Im not sure what the right thing to do is. I have been so excited for this!

Talking to venue and vendors today. Probably will limit to 50 people but not really sure HOW to do that. I was really disappointed yesterday but it is what it is. My MOH is telling me to speak to venue and vendors first, get a good idea of what HAS to happen, then work w her and wedding coordinators to move forward and contact invitees.

We rescheduled to August 23 from May 17, and all of our vendors are on board. We are still considering getting officially married on May 17 for the benefits, as we may both be in job transition. I think it is a personal choice based on how you want your day to be, which vendors can move, and how much money you'd lose. Are you OK getting a new vendor if your favorite vendor is unavailable. Are you able to handle lost deposits if you do have to switch vendors?

We got an email from our venue Saturday. They will not be closing at this time. They are closed to the public so only people who are getting married are allowed on the grounds. Our wedding is April 4th and we are still planning on going, we will just probably stay in our cabin, play board games, hike and relax in the hot tub.

Have you reached out to your vendors and venue yet to see what options there are?

We are getting married on Aprill 25, 2020 and as of now we have no plans to cancel or postpone. Our wedding is about 75 people and we figure we can come under the 50 cap. We will advise our guests and vendors to take precautions. We will wait and see.

Where is your wedding at? Ours is in Destin on the beach on 4/25/20. We are trying to decide what the best option is right now.

We’re in Oklahoma. It hasn’t gotten TOO crazy yet but we’re expecting it to get much worse. Our venue is thankfully willing to work with us and we’re gonna wait a couple more weeks before we decide whether or not to postpone. We’re hoping for a miracle but honestly expecting to have to postpone. We’re just worried about postponing because we don’t know when this will all end so it’s hard to know when to postpone for. :/

We were scheduled to get married May 16th. I had no intentions of cancelling, but my venue called today and said they were closing and were not sure when they would be open again! They told me they were calling everyone getting married in April/May asking them if they wanted to reschedule and so I felt like if I didn’t take it then, I would lose out on an ideal date. I ended up choosing August 22. I am so so so sad to have to reschedule, as we are so close to the date. But, at the same time I feel relieved and excited again to plan my wedding and look forward to my honeymoon.

We are 5/16 in Maine and currently in a wait and see mode. I am heartbroken that my bestie who was to co-officiate and lives in New Zealand cannot come due to actions taken by the airlines there. I waver by the minute of what to do!!! My FH is optimistic and keeping me from going off the deep end. If we have a smaller turn out, so be it. One of my biggest concerns about postponing is, we don't know where this thing will be in a week, how can we know where it will be in the fall or next year??? Deep breaths and big hugs to everyone wrestling with this. I hope we can all be supportive of each other regardless of decisions made. Stay safe!

I’m on the same boat. My wedding is 9-10 weeks out, May 24th and my venue won’t let me postpone because it’s not within the 8 weeks guideline. So frustrating. All I can do is wait and see if things get better or the ban will extend over 8 weeks...

My fiance and I honestly have no idea. Our date is still May 6th, but with the updates on avoiding large gatherings, it's just really rough and a tough decision to make. Especially after all of the money that's already been spent and the money that people were spending to be here. We haven't made any decision just yet. We'll just have to wait and see what Memphis does after this next 2-week period...

We were planning a 300 person wedding for 4/25. We’re now taking the approach of doing a small private ceremony (parents, siblings, hopefully wedding party) on that date - hopefully still in the church if we’re able. I’ve been able to talk to my major vendors the last couple of days and have rescheduled my large reception for August 22

We are April 24th, 2020. We dont want to make a finale decision yet. We are waiting it out for the next week or 2. We did contact all of our vendors & they all said they are moving forward with all their weddings because it's only a recommendation & not mandatory.

We have 1 family member flying from Hawaii & another from Texas. Our guest list is 95 people. Only 2 are over 64, my mom & his.
We are unsure buy we will see what happens in the next week or so & we will make out decision based on that. If we do not have our celebration on April 24th we will still get married through court or have a family member marry us somewhere & then postpone the celebration date

We unfortunately had to postpone our 4/4 wedding because it was destination in Las Vegas and everything has closed. We are now doing it on 8/8 but I’m afraid at this point we’ll have to reschedule again. We wanted to just go to the courthouse but the clerks office in our city is closed as well.

My wedding is in October. A destination wedding in Bradenton Beach, FL. I know they say it should die down by then but I'm just worried that it might not! And I'm worried if people are going to be out of work, will they even be able to afford to travel at that time. 🥺

4/25/2020 in Northern California- we're going to try to get our hands on a marriage license this week (if the clerk's offices aren't closed all around us during a Shelter in Place order) and do a very small ceremony with only our closest family on the date. Postponing the celebration a year to 4/24/2021.
