Arch or Tree for Ceremony Altar?

Mrs.a, on May 11, 2020 at 8:30 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 13
There are two spots we like on the property where we Will be getting married. One is in the shade, grassy in a small grove. I was thinking we could set up an arch with our altar. As pictured here.

Here is a picture of the actual location (mind you it was taken in winter and our wedding will be early October):

The second location is next to a big tree, which I thought we could do the following:

There are swings attached to the tree however. I am hoping they can remove some of them, but possibly leave the wooden swing and we could decorate it like this:

My only concern about this spot is that it may be too sunny.
What would you do?

I love the idea of putting the fabric in the tree... super romantic!

We're setting up our alter in front of a bunch of trees. I've salvaged some old doors and I'm setting them up as the alter, and hanging light bulbs with babies breath from the trees behind to add some depth.

I actually would leave the tree as is too and put the fabric or even hang lanterns down it

Both are beautiful but I’d go for the tree. There’s something magical about getting married under a tree that has been growing and standing for 100’s of years.

I think the tree would be very pretty, but I would talk to the venue first to see if you can remove the extra swings. They might not be willing to.

Instead of removing the swings you could just wrap them around the branches they are attached to so they won’t hang or hang as low. I’m team tree.

I love the tree idea. The drapery through the limbs is so pretty. I would try to remove the swings, or as the PP said, wrap them in the top of the branches.

I am getting married under a huge pepperwood tree. We will be draping fabric over two tree limbs for our ceremony. Here is a photo of the tree at my venue.

The tree is absolutely magical and it would be so romantic if you draped some airy fabric from the large branches. That would be my number one choice! Oh and the decorated swing idea is so fun!

This is beautiful! I can’t wait to see our ceremony site once everything is lush and in fall when the leaves start to change color.
