Are centerpieces really that important?

karebear87, on April 4, 2015 at 11:20 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 14

So the decorating aspect of my wedding never really appealed all that much to me, so my centerpieces are pretty minimalistic. I have rectangular tables and there will be a mason jar with a floral arrangement, and then 2 tea light lanterns on either side.

I don't even have other flowers other than the 2 arrangements that will be at the church. Is that too little? Does anyone else have smaller centerpieces?

I really don't want to spend any more or think of any ideas...I just figure people don't really care all that much in the end...What do you guys think?

That sounds fine. We're just doing a small vase with silk flowers. No candles or anything.

As long as you have centerpieces you're fine. Tables look unfinished without them. Those sound very nice :-)

I have 8' buffet tables. My centerpieces will be a tea light lantern(8" high) sitting on top of sliced wood, scattered around will be a few mini pumpkins and leaves. The only flowers will be from the wedding party and those will be very minimal. I love the minimal look over anything to huge. Lol honestly it's not the reason people are there.

And it's nothing against people who have more extravagant centerpieces, I love seeing what people come up with, it's just not my thing. I was at my friends wedding a few weeks back and hers were pretty extravagant and beautiful, and it just got me worrying that mines not enough.

I think I just worry to much about what people will think! Thanks for the reassurance ladies Smiley smile

It's always up to you as to how you decorate your wedding. I have a lot of clients who do mason jars and wildflowers and votives. Perfectly fine!

Sounds good to me. that's about what we're having just 3 round vases with floating candles in blue water. i'm not big on planning or flowers. flowers die (so to me are a waste of money) and i'm just not good at planning stuff. i really think your tables will be fine

This was ours, simple and elegant. They furnished the mirror and hurricane with taper, we did the rest. I got the votives and glass holders off yummicandles.com and a few people helped me add the lace and ribbons with fake rings tied in them.

What you are doing with the centerpiece sounds amazing. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

It depends on your style and taste I think that will be fine a wedding does not need to be covered in flowers.

Honestly I think centerpieces are a big waste of money. People way over spend on them and no one but the ones who cared about or paid for them will remember.

I have never been to a wedding from which I can even remember the centerpieces. Don't sweat it!

I believe as long as you have something that is aesthetically pleasing, your centerpieces are fine. Everyone doesn't have to do something fancy and major.
