Are Chiavari Chairs really worth it?

I've decided not to get Chiavari Chairs because it would be about $1600 extra that I don't want to spend. I love the way they look...they add alot of character, but I can't justify the price for them. Personally, I do not like the look of chair covers. Just wondering your guy's thoughts. I attached...

I attached a picture of the chairs that will be at our reception...at no extra cost! The last picture shows Chiavari Chairs (random picture).

I love the look of Chiavari chairs and ultimately think we will rent them. However, it's only $600 at most for us. If it was $1600, I'd probably decline. That's steep for chairs.

A chair is a chair. Our room comes with the banquet style that yours comes with but the chairs are like a hunter green, so we are getting the chair covers.

Plus the banquet chairs can support more weight if you have any larger people coming Smiley smile

Honestly, chiavari chairs IMO are uncomfortable. The ones you have already might not be uber fancy but they certainly aren't ugly. It's not like they are cheap plastic chairs or anything, then I would understand not liking them. Honestly, the only time I ever remember the chairs at weddings is if they hurt my back.

We only had them cause our venue gave it to us as a "gift" for booking within 10 days of site visit. We would never pay $1600 for them!!

They look great and and do add "an elegant look" but not $1600 worth it!!

I love the chiavari chairs, but I would never pay $1600 to use them. That's a huge chunk of money for chairs. The included chairs will be fine Smiley smile

But it's just chairs ... That literally cost more than twice the rental fee for my reception venue!

The last wedding I attended had chiavari chairs and I was in pain all night, since I don't carry much padding, where I sit. I seriously wished they had spent the money, on better tasting food choices.

I would not waste the money for them. Those chairs look fine with that venue. Nobody will remember the chairs as long as they have one to park their butt on. If not then they would remember.

I love them would pay for them, but it would be one of the last things in our budget and only if we could fit it in. Luckily my venue only has chiavari chairs included in the venue so it's not extra cost for us.

I think they add so much character and appeal to the decor...but, when I think about it....I'd rather save that money or put it toward food, favors or other decor items. I have heard they are uncomfortable as well.

I will use Chivari chairs because my guest count is under 15 so I feel I can justify.

I wanted them so badly but in the end, for me, it was not worth the money.

Funny aside because we're on the topic...the company we're renting our chiavaris from also has Ghost chairs for $25 per chair. $25 per chair!

Hearing they are uncomfortable is nice. My venue has rolling, maroon, velvet-covered chairs (why are there wheels?!) They are comfy, but really ugly. I want those chiavari chairs so much but they would add like 1200 to our budget. (10/person, which now sounds cheap apparently).

I love chivari chairs and i wanted them but when i spoke to a rental company they told me that a heavy set person might fall of the chair or may not want to sit on it for fear of breaking it. Since i didn't want to make any of my guest uncomfortable or start asking for their weight i went with the venue's chairs. My venue's chairs are exactly like yours and I'm not using chair covers.

I am in the same boat. These are the chairs my venue is offering.. It is in a smaller room with lower ceilings.. I really want chiavari chairs because they are so beautiful but such a waste of money. Somebody tell me these chairs aren't that bad?
