Are Chiavari Chairs really worth it?

I dont care for them especially at 1600 extra bucks.

Chelsea, they are not that bad. At least they don't have any wheels that I can see . Seriously though, they are not ugly at all.

These are included with our venue so I'm pretty happy about that. If they weren't, I wouldn't spend $1600 on them. They're just chairs.

No. When was the last time you went to a wedding and left saying "that was the best wedding the chairs were effing amazing!!"

Chiavari chairs come with our venue and they were gold... One of our colors. But having said that I wouldn't have been able to justify paying extra for them. But I don't mind the seat covers either.

I think Chiavari chairs are pretty, but I have a big butt. They are not comfortable. Chelsea, I really like your chairs-they are nice AND comfy looking. LemonadeSprings- I love maroon velvet! And wheely chairs. I would be thrilled if those were at my venue.

Put the $1600 into something your guests will actually appreciate.

A year later, nobody's going to say "the chairs were so gorgeous!" But they will say "that cake/beef/appetizer/sundae bar was amazing" or "the lighting was so romantic!" or "I was so grateful for that shuttle back to the hotel!"

Of all the weddings I've attended, I can't say I recall the chair selection at any of them....

No. Garden chairs look nice and are much less. 1/2 the price or more.

I adore Chivari chairs and my venue's chairs are butt ugly. So we got them. But we also got a coupon at our local wedding show for $3 off the price of the chairs, so they should only be $5/each. That ends up being about $500 for us, which to me is totally worth it. Shop around to see if you can find another vendor that does them cheaper if you really want them.

I love them too but that's a lot of money!!! And to be honest, you're probably the only one that will notice what the chairs look like. I say skip it and either save or put that money elsewhere!

The chairs at your venue look very neutral. I would just stick with them. No need to spend a bunch of money on something that most people will forget about.

I actually like the chairs that are in you original venue photos. They look much comfier too.

For both of you, it is not worth it to pay extra for the chairs.

Yes...I don't mind the chairs that the venue provides. They aren't that old and go with the decor of the ballroom. They are comfy as well!

Chelsea, I really like the chairs you posted above! They are very elegant with the wood and look very comfy. I would stick with those. =)

I LOVE chiavari chairs however I don't think I could ever spend that much! we're renting the nice white folding ones because our venue only provides plastic white chairs that I feel a lot of my bigger family members won't be able to sit in comfortably. The ones your venue has look great!

I love them I think they make the room look more elegant, I upgraded my chairs and I am regretting it, because I feel like that extra money could have gone to something else, but fmil really pushed me to get them... and we'll I did

We couldn't justify chair covers, let alone chiavari chairs....we took the extra $800 we would have spent on covers and upgraded our bar. I think our guests will appreciate the bar over covers (that will probably be covered by purses and suit jackets)

Absolutely not- especially considering they are more uncomfortable.

I hate chair covers bit I also hate those generic banquet chairs. Our venue didn't have chiavari chairs (which I absolutely love!) But I'm glad they are different.

That being said, 1600 for chairs is fucking crazy and you are smart for saying no
