Are crystal beads in vases tacky??

Pinkuin, on February 15, 2014 at 6:14 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 12

My florist suggested putting crystal beads inside short vases and putting water in themfor the low vases that go under the main tall centerpiece... is it just me that finds them tacky and typical or is this a consensus??

kinda like this picture i would imagine...

They look nice to me, but if you think they're tacky and aren't part of how you envisioned your centrepieces, maybe they can suggest something else.

We are using them, but you cant tell they are water crystals. This is similar to what our water crystals will look like. Our vases & colors are way different, but this gives you an idea. If you add water you cant see the individual crystals.

Those are water beads. If you think they look tacky then dont go for it. Try clear wrap paper in water instead? I am going to use water beads with lights in them

Yeah, I think the Crystal beads in your picture look pretty tacky, like a third grade arts & crafts project haha. Don't let your vendors push you into doing things you don't want.

Not AT ALL, especially in the lower lighting that you will probably be having. Just be sure to go with a color that hides the stems!

I personally don't like the look. After spending hours in ACMoore looking at stones, beads, moss, etc, I decided to paint the inside of my glass vases. Saw it on Pinterest, of course! Saved me money, hides the stems and I don't have to carry tons of stuff to the venue. Good luck with your choice.

I don't like the look of a completely filled vase with colorless crystals. I like halfway filled with colorful ones.

I think we're going to use the clear ones, but the cylinder vases will have clear glass stones at the bottom, a submerged rose head, and it will be filled with water so the beads aren't visible. They're just in there to keep the floating candle from moving around in the water at the top.
