I really want to do flowers in Mason jars as my centerpieces for my wedding. I refuse to get them through a florist because it's too overpriced and I am on a tight budget. My wedding is at 11:30AM, so everything has to be done the night before (or even earlier than that). My original idea was to have a family member put the flowers in jars for me the day before the wedding and drop them off at the venue. The venue told me they have no refrigerator for my flowers and that nothing can be dropped off until the day of anyway. So it looks like I'll have to do fake flowers. are fake flowers tacky for a wedding centerpiece?

Nope, that is what I plan to use - fake! I don't think they would look tacky at all. Real flowers are hard to keep up and of course, can get really expensive for us on a budget. For centerpieces, I plan on going to the craft store, Walmart or Dollar store to purchase fake flowers and put them together myself. Good luck and it will be great!

It doesn't work like that. Crappy stuff is tacky. Nice fake flowers are nice; crappy fake flowers are tacky. Nice real flowers are nice; crappy real flowers are tacky.

(And remember, inexpensive doesn't mean crappy, and expensive doesn't mean nice!)

I prefer real flowers but if they're not in your budget and you want flowers instead of a non-flower centerpiece, then I don't really see another option...

I created this bouquet for a friends wedding out of fake flowers. The total cost was just under $100. I also have a link to an ebook where she instructs you on how to create your own bouquet and flowers for your wedding party. http://7966b5oh5yw5ni0qs4g83hli0q.hop.clickbank.net/ Full disclaimer Smiley smile I do get money if you buy the ebook. But there are also a lot of YouTube videos that you could watch. Good Luck.

I think if they good quality, like to the point where you'd have to touch them to tell cause you can't tell, then youre good. I personally will not be having fake flowers. One BIG reason is because my parents absolutely hate fake flowers. They think they look cheap especially for a wedding. I have to listen to them because they are taking care of the floral arrangement for the whole thing. If it was up to me I might actually go with fake ones, at least for the centerpiece.

Not only do I not think they are tacky but a necessity in my wedding. Being a person that is allergic to just about everything, the last thing I want to do is be on medicine on my special day.

I'm going back and forth on the centerpieces myself. I will have real babys breath as the fake is really awful, but I want to keep my bouquet so it will be fake. I'm going to price grocery stores and see if I can come up with something simple. If so, I may go with real.

We are doing painted mason jars and lace ones I DIY. I am doing real baby's breath with a small pastel pin wheel in painted ones. (quart size) smaller lace ones will have fake colored baby's breath (pint size ones), then laced jelly jars will have votive candles in them. did a trial run looks good. Made all the bouquets and boutonnieres with fake flowers and everyone loves them mines a flower brooch combo. Our wedding is at noon so this was the best choice for us. So we can set up the day before.

Not at all! It's a great way to save money and still have beautiful centerpieces. I'm also doing them to save money and because I have bad allergies. I'm just adding candles and a little sparkle to make them pop!
