How should we handle big ticket items that we'd like and/or need but definitely wouldn't ask or expect a single family or person to purchase. Example: closet shelving, grill and backyard furniture, etc.,
Is a "contribute xx to this gift" appropriate? I know several registries allow you to split the cost and allow people to contribute towards something rather than buying the whole item. And then whatever they aren't able to fund, we just pay the difference ourselves?
