Are outdoor weddings a good idea

Lizz, on November 23, 2018 at 10:15 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6

I'd love to get married in a flower field. Like this:

wedding-portraits-flower-field-australia I was wondering if anyone has ever done an outside wedding and how smooth it went. I can't really find anyone online, talking about their experience. For example:

Where you put the seats?

where did you find an open scenery for the wedding?

did it get boring?

were the flowers in the way during the ceremony?

Thanks a bunch Smiley heart

I am a violinist and I’ve played at about 80 weddings, many of which were outside. There are lots of venues to do this at, like farms, backyards of mansion/rental house/club house, mountains, lakeside. I’ve never seen a problem setting out the chairs in rows. It’s never boring. The main problems are heat and bugs. And you’ll need a rain backup plan.

Thank you so much! I should do it in the fall when it's windy. Thanks again!

YES! It's a risk because of the weather. My cousin & a close friend both planned outdoor ceremonies, and the weather was cold unfortunately. We froze at my cousin's (no heaters!), and the friend's ceremony was moved indoors.

However, we had an outdoor ceremony this past May, and we were so lucky it was a sunny warm day!

Always have a back up plan with your site/venue on if you can move it indoors (or rent heaters if it's chilly) if needed. I prayed every day for good weather, so a lil prayer might help too. :-) That field looks absolutely beautiful, hope your dream comes true!

That looks gorgeous! I’d just make sure your guests are aware that the ceremony is in a field of flowers for anyone who has allergies.
