Melissa, on August 7, 2013 at 9:01 AM Posted in Planning 0 21

Do you think I really need personalized napkins? Maybe near the cupcake tower or for beverages at the bar or can I just skip them???

Nope. Totally unnecessary, but we have them anyway. Skip em if you want.

No, they aren't necessary. But I had them and I thought they were really cute. They add a really personal touch which I really liked. I got 100 of them for $15 from Exclusively Weddings and the Knot has sales for $10 for $100. I think they are nice to have if you have the extra money for it.

I think they were necessary back in the early 90s, but I actually haven't seen any for years. We're going with cloth napkins, provided by the venue.

I guess I didn't think of having cocktail napkins for the cake... but I'm sure the venue will cover that, too.

We used them as bar napkins with cloth napkins for dinner.

Definitely not! I agree with Soonyee, they can be a lovely detail. I'm interesting in the idea, and I see the appeal, but in the back of my mind, I keep thinking it's literally like throwing money away.

Not at all. I have them, but that was because I really wanted them even if they were frivolous. I pounced on a good deal and am happy with them. But I do admit it was 50 bucks I could have saved.

They are unnecessary. I did get them though, because they were on sale.

Yeah I'm on the fence about them. I do like the personal touch they bring. We will have linen napkins at the tables supplied by the venue and I'm sure they will have napkins for beverages and the cupcakes. Blah, I'll think about it but I might just skip them LOL...decisions, decisions!

But $8-$10 isn't a bad deal if I feel the need for them Smiley smile

Definitely not necessary. I got some because they were on sale for $9.99 for 100 and I couldn't resist. They're a fun detail, but I don't think anyone will miss them if you don't have them. Smiley smile

Not at all...we're not. I've been to quite a few weddings and I couldn't tell you which ones had personalized napkins and which did not. Plus...with 200 people...I'd be looking at 400-500 napkins...and even with them "only" being $10...that's still $50 on napkins alone lol.

Not necessary. All that is necessary is:

    a groom

    a bride

    an officiant

    a wedding license

    2 witnesses.

Keep this firmly in mind and you'll be much less stressed!

They're not necessary at all. I like them, so I'm doing them.

FH didn't really care for them.

Like the other ladies have said, nope, but we're having them. Mainly because my aunt is a real artsy fartsy person and has all the stuff to do them so we picked out a stamp and she's doing them for us. All we have to pay is the price of plain ivory cocktail napkins. :-)
