Are soaps a good wedding favor?

Paige, on June 28, 2017 at 1:36 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 35

I was looking at cute wedding favors that won't break the bank. Are scented soaps with a custom label a good choice? Or is that weird?

I believe favors should be edible.

We are eliminated favors from our budget...not a need.

As for soaps, it'll be hit n miss. I've had some great smelling ones n some not so great but honestly...I haven't used 'bar' soap in forever.

Some people are allergic to scented candles and soaps so keep that in mind. I would recommend an edible favor or no favor at all.

I think that soap with a custom label would be cute; however, as another person mentioned, if you are trying to cut costs, favors are a good thing to eliminate. With any favor idea, you are most likely going to have some leftover and also the ones that people leave behind. Just keep that in mind when deciding on a favor. Happy planning!

I would say no soaps. I'm with everyone else that the favors should be edible. If someone had soap as a favor, I would honestly not bring it home.

I'm sure soaps would be very cute, but totally not necessary and probably not really all that appreciated by most guests. I know my DH wouldn't care for one, and I have sensitive skin and would be reluctant to use it. As other PPs stated, go edible or upgrade something!

We are eliminating favors. Since we're having a photo booth, their picture is their favor

    They're cute but not necessary.

I would just skip them. I feel like you may end up with a lot left behind.

I would love soap lol. Especially if it's lavender scented. If your budget allows it, go for it!

I would hate it personally. I'd either not take one or throw it away.

I would do something edible as well. I am obsessed with decluttering so I'm not getting anything that will people have to take home and either throw away or store someplace. Also, I don't want anything leftover that I have to take home and throw away.

Not for me, but I have skin sensitivities as well as scent sensitivities and wouldn't take this.

We did soap favors for my niece's baby shower. We left them in a basket by the door. Some people literally took an entire handful, others didn't take any. I took the leftovers, which wasn't much. 6 maybe?

Had a soap given to me as a bridal shower favor and I didn't do anything with it. Ended up in the trash. Save your money or buy your guests something yummy instead Smiley smile

They work and people on here have song them, just make sure they smell good!

Edible favors tend to go over well BUT people use soap (hopefully) so I think it's a great idea too.

I'm also a fan of skipping the favors, but it's all a personal choice

The allergy thing gets me a little. I know I breakout in hives with almost anything vanilla. I wouldn't want that to happen if people were trying to

    Find smells they liked.
