Are soaps a good wedding favor?

I was looking at cute wedding favors that won't break the bank. Are scented soaps with a custom label a good choice? Or is that weird?

Umm I'd like it better as a bridal shower favor.

I'm not doing favors but would love to get soap as a guest. It's something people can use so I would be all over it! Haha cute idea!

FH and I would probably both like something like this.

I would love it as a guest, but there would probably be some people who wouldn't appreciate it as much. I suggested it to my FH and he said his friends wouldn't want "girly soap," haha. It doesn't have to be "girly," obviously, he's just a generalizing turd sometimes, hahaha.

I think the cost of doing soap isn't worth that a good amount of people will probably toss it out. I agree with edible favors or upgrading something else.

Custom labeled chapstick would be about the same price and everybody needs more chapstick.

I would literally try to take them all if they smelled like eucalyptus or vanilla (I may have a slight addiction). I'm sure that's not helpful at all, but I'm someone that enjoys favors that I can actually use instead of something that ends up in a drawer or trashcan (like monogrammed beer "koozies" or well...monogrammed anything.

Favors don't necessarily have to be edible. I like the soap idea

I like soaps better as a shower favor, honestly. But I'm a sucker for cute phrases like "From my shower to yours". I would definitely take a soap though!

I would love soaps. It's way more useful than edibles. Most edible favors are sweets and I don't like sweets. So I bet it would depend on the person/your guest

I made soap for my favors. Lavender vanilla scented, goats milk soap Smiley smile I tied some vanilla chapstick on top. Even if people don't use the soap, they might fancy the chapstick..

@FMP I'm addicted to chapstick so I really appreciate this haha. OP, I think it's a cute idea. Bottom line, no matter what you choose, it will never be a home run with 100% of your guests. A lot of people suggest edibles, but you'll still run into allergies, intolerances, diabetics, people on diets, etc.
