Are veils going out of style?

Nicole, on May 16, 2017 at 9:49 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 97

Last night I was looking for veil inspirations so I was scrolling through some wedding venues instagrams. I was surprised that about 80% of the brides weren't wearing a veil. Are veils becoming less and less popular?

It's definitely becoming more common to not wear one, but to me, no veil makes the look incomplete. I'm totally wearing one.

I have one. I won't be covering my face with it or anything though. Just wearing it for the ceremony to complete the look like MrsCoakley mentioned. I'll be taking it off and putting in a beautiful hair comb for the reception!

I hope not! I'm obsessed with mine. (Although it doesn't cover my face.)

I think they are still popular but not for the entire day. Many brides wear them for just the ceremony and then for some formal photos afterwards. So you may have been looking at reception photos when the veil had already come off.

I'm not wearing one or anything in my head. My dress has a small train, and a cute back so I want to display my dress. Where my family is from, we wear "mantillas" or crochet-veils and I believe people are also stopping that trend.

I love veils! It totally competes the look.

I wore a cathedral length veil. It had a (very sheer) blusher that I wore down the aisle, then my parents flipped it back when we got to the front of the church. I took it off for the reception (can't dance with a veil that long!) and put a headband on!

I think a lot of people take them off for the reception - so that may skew the pictures a little because they may have already taken it off before the photo was taken

I loved my veil. I only wore it for the ceremony, but I loved it!

In style or not, I love my veil! It is my favorite accessory and I can't wait to wear it. I joke that I will likely run around the house in it after the fact...I don't think it is a joke. I can totally see myself sitting at my desk in my yoga pants and my veil. It's a sickness really.

I personally don't like them. Didn't wear one to my first wedding, won't be wearing one this time either.

I'm not wearing a veil. I chose a floral crown with a long ribbon in the back instead. It complements my dress beautifully and in no way do I feel like the look is incomplete.

I'll be wearing mine for the ceremony and for part of the cocktail hour, but once the reception starts I plan on taking it off. I don't want to get stuck on things since it's a longer when I'm walking around.

I loved wearing my veil more than I thought I would! I kept it on through the father daughter dance, and then took it off for the rest of the reception.

I never wanted a veil until the consultant put one on me with my dream dress. I won't have a blusher but I will have a veil!

I'm wearing it for only the ceremony. I wasn't sure I wanted one but when I put one on I didn't want to take if off! Personal preference for sure

No veil for me, they are way too expensive and just too old Fashion for me. I'm wearing a fresh flower crown.. I am having a forest wedding so it only made sense. Lol but I do love the veils for the right brides!
