Are we now unable to hide or remove posts in the forums?

I don't want to keep getting the emails that people are commenting on a post, in the old version I could "hide" it - but I don't see that option anywhere.

Hi FutureMrs.Hays! All of your Community discussions, comments, and photos have always been publicly visible and indexed per our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. The only exception to this previously was if you had hidden a post.

Are you at all concerned that so many people are so upset with the new changes and are threatening to leave the community? This is an honest question and I would like an answer. (my previous questions for some reason aren't important enough to answer)

LH2018, Asta, Christina, FallMNBride - I have all of your requests

Chelsea - We're confident in this new Community and made this decision based on years of user feedback from thousands of Community participants. We understand that this is all brand new and can be overwhelming, and will continue to listen to the feedback we are receiving!

Back to OP, Christina can you turn off notifications for the site? That's what I do so my phone isn't blowing up with emails.

    Lynnie,

Are you concerned at all about all threads of this nature ending with user requests to delete all previous content? It seems strange that you're okay with people leaving en mass.

Also, I would not consider this update to be anywhere near close to light years ahead. Forums in the late 90s and early 2000s had more capability than this forum in its current form.

You could have a friends list AND message them privately. And there is always at least one thread dedicated to general chatter no matter how specific just to alleviate the amount of off topic threads were started.

So @Lynnie, you’re admitting to pushing out old users and destroying a community that relied on each other for humor, support, and solid advice? Not only is it overwhelming, it has alienated those who enjoyed what WW was. This is very upsetting to users new and old, but great job on ruining what was IMO, the best wedding forum and app available! You get a gold star for your efforts! Smiley star

I have to admit I'm a little confused about the mass delete requests, since all of this content has always been publicly visible on the internet - which I have always been clear about (in addition to it being clearly outlined in our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines ).

We can not force anyone to keep their WeddingWire account open, nor is that my intent! Of course I'd like everyone to stay and chat with me in the Community, but having a WeddingWire account and participating in the Community is everyone's own optional decision.

I know change can be hard and there's a lot of reactions, but I'm very confident in this new Community. Already we've been able to fix existing issues way faster and we've provided a ton of functionality that our users have requested over the years: search on mobile, being able to see your discussions and discussions you've commented on on mobile, notifications of new activity, quoting, emojis, gifs, videos, increasing the photo size limit, no photo restrictions per post, removing the ability for users to hide discussions, a way to directly contact other users (through wall messaging), regional groups, improved categories, improved search, the ability to successfully hyperlink, making all posts "bump-able", getting rid of the 5 star system....

We are listening to the feedback we're receiving but we're also going to give it some time for people to get adjusted to all the new changes so we can prioritize what our next actions should be - like push notifications!

@Lynnie if we stop participating in the forums, and/or get banned.. does it delete our account? I also use WW for my wedding website and guest list.

ETA I do not want my account deleted. I am just not sure if I am going to end up getting banned for asking questions about things I legitimately am not understanding. I need to know that if this happens, I can still access the other planning tools.

No one cares about bloody push notifications! You took away the means of most of us to socialise with each other! Your forum is no better than any forum. You have no means of PMing anymore, you are giving no reason for people to stick around.

How about you prioritize letting vendors post (which we LIKED) and leaving us with ONE forking cake-balls daily chat thread? I don't get how one (or even two, or three) chatty threads is such an issue over the multiple dress, ring, catering.... threads made new every HOUR.

No to both! If you stop participating in the forums, then you just won't generate any new content!

If you are banned you lose the ability to post in the forums, but it does not affect your ability to log in to your WeddingWire account or using our planning tools (like the guest list or your wedding website).

If you request to deactivate your WeddingWire account - you will lose all save information in your planning tools (website included).

Correct. In light of the recent changes we are currently making one-time exceptions to remove content, but we will not do so in the future.

@Lynnie, ok those are all great but why could those changes not be IN ADDITION to the already great community that existed? Since yesterday, WW has lost countless members and and will only continue to do so because of these ridiculous CGs. But also, I LOVE WW ITS SO GREAT!

No. You emailed to let me know my photos were going to be removed, not my past post threads that I created. I sent a follow up email approximately 11:48am EST highlighting that I wanted my posts as well. Please advise.
