Are y’all still having traditional weddings during the pandemic?

What kind of weddings are people having during the pandemic? Are y’all still doing the traditional wedding but implementing covid precautions (social distance, sanitizing stations...etc.) or are y’all eloping or doing smaller events? Also, how many guests are y’all having? My wedding is August 13th,...

I think so! We’ve talked about doing that as well. And we’re also going to livestream it for folx who are uncomfortable attending in person. So we’ve thought about listing that as an RSVP option as well.

I get married on 4.3.21 and weather permitting the ceremony will be outside, so we will have the chairs separated for social distancing. We’re not requiring masks but if they want to wear them they can, and we will have hand sanitizer for each guest and if they aren’t comfortable we completely understand and they don’t have to come. We have big families so the guest list is pretty big, but with Covid I’d say 30% or 40% of people will show.

Because of many high risk immediate family members, my fiance and I were married in a very small ceremony followed by dinner at my parents' house. We hope to have a celebration this fall for more guests

We had a minimony in October and our big wedding was scheduled for March 2021 but hate been cancelled. Now we're in the process of replanning for October but it won't be as big as we originally planned for. Maybe 80guests

We are going to try to make a go of it in May with our venue. We are swapping out the DJ with a dueling pianos show. The venue actually made the suggestion to us (the DJ is in house) and I think they are just pleased that we are willing to try to go forward with the event. Current restrictions are 25% capacity (75 guests that have to be seated) and no dance floor, so we thought the dueling pianos could entertain people after dinner in lieu of dancing. We made some smaller guest lists as our original list is around 100 or so. We will take all the safety precautions seriously and we think many of our guests will have the vaccine at that point. It's not perfect but we are doing our best to adjust.

I think this is totally okay! It shows that you care about your guest safety and want to be up-front with them about what you are doing to keep them safe.

    Hello,

I live in MD and my date is 7/24 and I am planning for a traditional wedding. I am hoping that pandemic will be better and some of the restriction lifted. I am planning for about 100 guest. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I plan to have temperature checks, sanitizer, mask and whatever else may be needed.

My goal is for a traditional medium-big wedding right now my guest list is 120 guests but we still may need to add some more. I am really praying for a semi-normal wedding but if it is needed we will downsize the guest list and have masks, sanitizer, and fewer people at the tables.
