Are you a Kleinfeld Bride??

Brittany, on April 16, 2017 at 12:27 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 20

Booked my appointment for Kleinfelds, in four weeks! I have never tried on a wedding gown so I am using this first appointment to decide what looks good on my body and what style and direction I want to go in. I have heard mixed reviews about kleinfeld and wondering... are you a Kleinfeld bride? What was your experience like ?

Ps. I am totally OK with not being a Kleinfeld bride, I have other appointments lined up at various salons, this one just happens to be first!

I got my dress from Kleinfeld and I love it!!! The entire experience was super fun. They had my family sit on the couches and took me back and talk to me about what I was looking for. My consultant was Shay and he was spot on with dress choices. I tried 6 dresses in total and went back to dress 2 because I just knew it was for me. I loved every moment.

The picture is of today at my second dress fitting.

I went to a sample sale at Kleinfeld as my 1st dress shopping experience with my MOH & 1 BM. My consultant was also Shay. He was a complete sweetheart. The customer service was nothing short of amazing. Bring inspo pics. I received a complimentary bag filled with goodies and was treated to dessert. I tried on about 6 dresses. My advice is to not tell them you have a budget, because this way you can see a variety of their best dresses suited for you. Take lots of photos so bring a family member/friend. Personally, I wasn't wowed by any of their dresses. They seemed very plain for my taste and even the simplest dress was priced at $3k and probably only worth $1k. I wouldn't change the experience though. But I definitely vote small bridal boutiques for the actual purchase. The customer service is amazing and the prices are usually more reasonable. My dress would have cost me more than double at Kleinfeld. Support small business.

I will be! I won the march MadDress sweepstakes! My appointment is 5/27! I definitely made appointments elsewhere just so I get a sense of what I like. They also tell you to print out top 5 from their inventory.

My friend went to Kleinfeld and she said unless you have a budget over $3,000 and about $600-700 for alterations, it's difficult to find a dress. I went to RK Bridal instead of Kleinfeld.

Seconding a recommendation for RK bridal! Ask for Sheryl if you can, she was amazing. Similar experience to what syttd looks like on tv, huge stock and they pick for you. Personally I loved that even though I'm pretty selective. She nailed it!

I went to Kleinfeld in December and purchased my dress there. I had already tried on dresses so I knew what I liked. I worked with Farrah and she was fantastic, she also told me not to get my alterations done there since all I need is hemming which isn't worth a plane ticket and $795. She also brought Pnina in to meet me and measure me.

I bought my second dress at Kleinfeld. The customer service was amazing and I loved the dress I got. But I already had a dress that I purchased at a local bridal boutique and honestly, that experience was even better than my experience at Kleinfeld (and the alterations were much more affordable, considering I had my local dress customized).

I don't think I would use Kleinfeld as my first dress shopping experience. You need to go to a local boutique first to determine what style you like so that when you go to Kleinfeld they will only show you dresses in that or very similar silhouettes. Otherwise, there's just too much to show and you could spend your entire appointment just trying to find a silhouette and not really get to decide on an actual dress you like. That's a waste of a Kleinfeld appointment, IMO.

Kleinfeld bride here who also had Shay as a consultant. He was the sweetest and able to help me when I had no clue what I wanted. He even brought me dresses way under budget even though I told him we could up it if necessary! Had a 6k budget and my dress ended up being right around 3k.

I went there to look, but it was not my budget at all, and they were sort of rude when they found out that I had a budget.

I was a Kleinfeld bride. I worked with Farrah and she was very nice with me. My first dress was starpless, mermaid, sweetheart neckline, with lace and I had plus sparkle belt and veil and the second dress was with long sleeves, necklace, sweetheart neckline, A-line and backless. The top was made of organza and was with lace and the bottom was only organza. I am so pleased from Kleinfeld. I tried even 9 dresses there: 4 for my first and main wedding ceremony on the beach and 5 for my second wedding ceremony in hotel at fall and both of my 2 dream dresses were number 2.

@Wendy for me he asked what I was most comfortable with! He ended up helping me into/out of dresses but would wait until I had already stepped in it. It wasn't weird at all!

I am a new one! Just ordered my dress this week. I went to their sample shop across the street before to see what was there.

Then I went across the street to the flagship for my appointment. I had Lisa. The 5th dress ended being the one and within budget at 2000 but I did see dresses lower.

Some of the best service I had seen and I have gone to 2 other shops before

@WendyC Shay did not stay in the room. He had a female assistant who did. Shay did help me into and out of my dress. Either way, he is gay so I wouldn't feel uncomfortable. He wouldn't be attracted or act inappropriate in any way. He is very professional.

@Nancy, you be as dramatic & reality TV as possible.

I felt like Kleinfelds' was a must do if you have the budget and live in NYC, so we did it. But with a $6k budget, they still had lil to offer that was non-poofy/non-sparkly. If you like your navel showing through your wedding dress, hit up Kleinfeld. Otherwise, think twice.
