Are you changing out of your wedding dress at reception or staying in your dress all night long?

I'm not changing before the reception but will be changing for the send-off. My dress is a mermaid style, and we're going away on FH's motorcycle so there's no way I could wear my dress for it. I'll change into my white lace jumpsuit right before the send-off!

I wore mine the whole night but I do see the appeal of changing into something slimmer or easier to move in

I did opt for a reception dress only because my ceremony dress is satin (heavy) and it doesn't have a natural place for a bustle. We are also getting married in June in NC so it's going to be hot and I don't want to be sweating my reception away.

Same!! My ceremony dress was only $425 and my reception dress was $250.00. The alterations needed to add bustle and other fittings to make it reception ready would have cost more than the reception dress cost overall. If I had paid thousands for one dress I wouldn't be changing but I haven't even spent $700.00 on two dresses so it's totally worth it to me.

I plan to stay in my dress all night long! Our reception ends at 11 PM and with my family, I am sure they will want to go downtown to the bars, so I will stay in my dress for that as well Smiley smile

I'm actually having my dress made so it will be detachable. I will be able to take the bottom part off and have a reception dress underneath.

I wore my dress at my 11am ceremony, obviously, then wore it all the way until midnight that night!! We drove about 2 and half hours to our bed and breakfast place and pumped gas in it!! (Hubby was sleeping in the car) We went out for a drink at our favorite place and wore it there, too!!!
