Are you doing the traditional father-daughter and mother-son dances at your wedding reception? Or are you trimming down the total number of reception traditions and cutting the parent dances? Are you saying "I do" to this tradition or ditching it? Photo by Black & Hue Photography in...

Thank you, next (tradition): Are you ditching the bouquet toss?

Oh god I would NEVER skip this. I'm a daddy's girl all the way and I am a huge sucker for these dances at weddings. I love them

We’re not having dancing at the reception, so no parent dances. We don’t have room for dances at our venue (the social hall at our church), so no need for a DJ, and that means a lot of money saved. We’ll have yummy food, beer and wine, cake and cookies, and great conversation. Smiley smile

We are keeping it, but adding something different. The groom will dance with our two daughters after he dance with his mother briefly. I really think it will be super cute! Both daughters dance better than my fiancee! Lol

We wanted to do a fun dance but didn't plan ahead enough. We did parent dances but kept them both super short and cut the song down.

Really? That's so strange, I feel like most parents love this tradition and want to do it!

Yes we are doing the father- daughter dance, and FH and his mother will be doing a dance as well (if they don't change their mind)

We are ditching all the traditional dances. Granted, our families are full of crazies so there will be dancing, well, some kind of flailing around.

I don't think we are doing any of the typical wedding traditions. Not having toasts, speeches, dances, garter or bouquet toss, no cake, no send off, no gifts.....just a fun time with family and friends.

So, my father passed away a few years ago. I have decided to do a mother daughter dance with my mum to a song that my father used to sing to her when she was pregnant with me.

This is the only part of the wedding I a dreading because I really struggle with the fact that my dad voluntarily took himself out of my life. So I won’t be able to have one. My FH loves my mom and doesn’t consider his mom a real mom due to her terrible choices so he will be dancing with my mom.
