Are you doing or ditching the “carry over the threshold” tradition?

Have you and your significant other decided to follow the “carry over the threshold” tradition? This old wedding night tradition was another way to ward off evil spirits, apparently brides were extra vulnerable through the soles of their feet! Are you saying “I do” to this tradition or ditching it?...

Nope I’m too fat for that! Not that I don’t think he can do it but I would even ask him to try😂

Oh we're definitely doing it! We both like the tradition, and he picks me up all the time anyway so there's no difficulty there, lol.

We were exhausted and had too much to drink by the end. FH fell asleep on the ride home (it was a good 30 min). We just came home and fell asleep and saved all the cutesy stuff for the next day.

FH and I haven't really talked about it. If he wants to do it, I'd let him, but I'm not super into the idea.

That's nice, saving things for the next day is a good idea!

I’m definitely ditching this tradition. I would have considered it if we had bought or rented a new home together.

Ideally we'd keep it, but we can swap on and off since we've both gotten into really good shape over the last couple years. Maybe I'll carry her up the stairs and she can carry me to the bed or something lol. Good compromise 👍

I think its outdated and in most cases impractical. Skipping this one.

I think that’s be too much to ask from my FH. I’m not what you’d call thin, and by BMI I’d be obese, so it’s in the best interest of his lower back not to carry me. Lol

Wow, is that where the tradition rooted from? I thought it was just for fun!

We haven't talked about this one. If it happens, it'll probably be a spur of the moment decision on FH part. He picks me up and carries me around all the time just for fun or if I'm mad... just because he can.

We're keeping it. I just love how romantic it is. Plus, he's but enough to do this with no fear of dropping me. Yes, please!

Ditching this. I don't want to be accidentally dropped.
