Are you doing or ditching the “carry over the threshold” tradition?

Have you and your significant other decided to follow the “carry over the threshold” tradition? This old wedding night tradition was another way to ward off evil spirits, apparently brides were extra vulnerable through the soles of their feet! Are you saying “I do” to this tradition or ditching it?...

Most likely. We've been living together for years and both will probably be exhausted.

We will probably just play that part by ear. Knowing him, he will definitely carry me!

Haven't talked about it, but I am pretty sure I want to skip it... lol... he can carry me later on. But then again if I get wasted at the reception he just might have to carry me

I'm a Lil on the heavy side as well. I know my fh will be a Lil more than buzzed at the end. I'm not a big drinker, so I know I will probably be wasted by then

Ditching. I just don't see it happening with us. We also are ditching other wedding traditions such as Father/Daughter dance, Mother/Son dance, Bouquet toss, garter removal, and first dance.

As of right now I don't know if it's my weight or his lack of strength but there is no picking up haha. Since we have 2 more years to work it out, who knows!?! It's definitely possible but I'm not sure if he would be willing to do it

We lived together before we got married, so DH carried me over the threshold when we first moved in together.

Absolutely ditching! Solely for the fact that I am on the chubbier side and I am always afraid of someone picking me up, especially my FH! Wouldn't want him to land in a hospital right after the wedding lol.

Oh my gosh no, we would both end up in the hospital with concussions lol. I’m too big for all that
