Are you doing your own wedding hair/make up?

HappilyEverAfter329, on February 21, 2017 at 1:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 34

I'm a licensed cosmetologist. I can definitely do my own make up and hair with no real issue. I just feel like I wanted to be pampered on my wedding day!

What are you doing?

100% hiring someone!!! I can hold my own and do my make up just fine but I'm not a pro. In your case, even being a pro, I wouldn't want the stress of having to do it!

Having my hair done, but I don't ever wear makeup and don't plan to change that for the wedding. Little mascara maybe, but I'm not paying for that haha.

I'm an Esthetician and worked in makeup for a while, so I will be doing my own for the most part. My coworker/friend will be there to double check me and stick on my lashes.

ETA: I will not be doing my own hair

I'm hiring someone all the way! I want to be pampered and not have to worry about a thing. Just relax with a drink in your hand and get someone to trust to take care of the rest.

I'm doing my own hair and makeup. I always wear my hair down in loose waves, and that's exactly what I want on my wedding day! As for makeup, I just always feel most like myself when it's done by me. And, I actually find it enjoyable/therapeutic to fix myself up!

I had someone else do my makeup and did my own hair the day of. However, I went the day before and had them deep condition it and do a blow out. It was nice not having another appointment the day of, but I just left it down and did something simple with it.

I'm definitely hiring someone for my hair! I'm funny about my makeup, so I don't want anyone to do it, but I feel like I'll regret not hiring someone.

I know so many people get their makeup done, but I just find it weird. I would fear that I would look so different. But to each their own. If you're questioning your hair, pay to have it done. I am sure your bridal party will be getting their hair done, and here you will be stuck alone in a bathroom doing your hair. You need that time - not to just be pampered, but you will have so much going on. Just be sure to do your research and a trial, if possible. I can see where if you have a knowledge of hair/makeup you might have higher standards. Which you have every right, because it is what you do. Best of Luck!

I had someone do my own hair just becuase I don't trust myself with it, but I actually did my own makeup and the makeup for my BMs. I did have 1 other person we paid to help with makeup for the BMs just for times sake, but she was a young family friend and not a pro- MUA (although she could be/eventually will be). The ONLY stressful part of my morning was when I was sitting getting my hair done, because I didn't have anything to do and I was just sitting. Having something to keep me busy kept me calm Smiley smile But everyone is different, and only you know what will work for you/stress you out!

I'm also a licensed cosmetologist and I'm doing my own hair and make up for my wedding. I also am thinking about doing my bridesmaids hair for the wedding.

Definitely. I did my own makeup for my engagement pics and I was confident. It turned out great but I can't imagine my wedding day. I'd be way to shaky making sure my eyebrows are even lol haha but I want to be pampered.

I feel like my wedding day is my one opportunity to get my hair and makeup done professionally. I am paying for my mom to have hers done cos I think she would love to be spoilt. I'm looking forward to it. I rarely spend money to pamper myself.

Also a licensed cosmetologist, I'm doing my own. I have naturally curly hair and am wearing it at least half down so nothing fancy. I'm a major perfectionist and always hate how other people do my hair and makeup so it's really less stress for me to just do it. The few friends I have coming along with me to the wedding are also hairstylists so if I absolutely need someone to help me out I have backup. My main issue is I don't want to end up looking over done, which tends to happen when someone else is doing it.

If I could afford it I probably would but I can't so I won't lol plus I'm super picky on the products I use so I would just rather feel comfortable doing it all myself.

My sil is a hairdresser she offered to do my hair for the wedding. I decided to hire a make up artist for my wedding day I'm pretty good at doing my own make up however, since it's my wedding I wanted to do it professionally done just once.

I am a licensed cosmetologist - although I changed careers and don't do hair in a salon environment anymore - and I am having both hair and makeup done by a professional. I also feel strongly that I don't want to ask any of my friends who are stylists or any stylists I know personally. Sometimes it's nice to relax and truly be a client.

If it's in your budget, I totally think it is worth it to have someone else pamper you on your wedding day!

I'm a cosmetologist too and I honestly hate doing my own hair. So, I'm having one of my former coworkers do it for the wedding. She's done my hair for 3 years now and I know she'd be upset if I went with someone else. I will probably do my own makeup though.

I'm hiring someone to do my hair, because I can't do it to save my life, but for my makeup I'm planning on going to Sephora or Ulta and having them do it for me a few days before and then buy all the stuff they use so I can recreate the look.
