Are you doing your own wedding hair/make up?

I'm planning to do my own unless some space opens up in the budget. The timeline that day is already going to be short of wiggle room and I don't want to make it any tighter.

ETA: ....I also don't want to have to wake up at 5am....

I am a hairdresser and there is no way I was going to do hair or MU day of. It was relaxing and they did it way better than I ever could

I look at it this way: I'm already paying a photographer and I want to look good in my photos! I suck at make up and hair, my sisters are good and offered to do my make up, but I am looking to hire someone for both.

100% hiring a professional.

Getting my hair done for sure. Still on the fence about the makeup part though

Im an Esthetician and MUA and totally could do my own makeup but decided to hire someone just so I don't have to worry about it!

And I hired someone for my hair because I can't do hair to save my life!

I pay for pro hair and makeup for my friends' weddings, sometimes even as a guest -- there was no way I was going to do my own for my wedding! lol

I originally had planned on hiring someone for both hair and makeup- But now I'm torn. I don't like any of the hair/makeup artists in the (small) city where my venue is. Artists from the city are wanting $500 for my hair and makeup, $150-200 for each BM plus travel fees.

I'm starting to wonder if for that kind of money, I could buy all the high end products I need and do it myself.

I'm a cosmetologist but I'm not doing my own hair. I kind of want to do my BM hair though but everyone thinks I'm nuts lol. Doing my own make up though.

Cosmetologist also and actually specialize in bridal event styling ! Doing my own bc I'm going to mess with it anyway and I'm super picky ... hired two girls to do everyone else but secretly dying to do it myself !

Even though I've danced for the last ten years, and thus am rather accomplished with stage/ photog makeup, there is no way I would consider not hiring a mua.

I'm paying close to 3,000 for a photog, so an extra few hundred in mua to have guarantee that my makeup is perfect for photos is worth it to me.

If it comes down to the wire, I can do my own hair, but I'd rather hire someone.

I've never gotten my hair professionally done, so for one day in my life, I'd like to be pampered. Lol

Same boat here. I'm trying to find someone but it's only me and one BM. I found a girl willing to do my hair but no MUA yet. *sigh*

Debating it. Most makeup I've seen done is very "natural", and I don't wear natural looking makeup like ever... it's always fairly dramatic makeup, and I'm not a professional, but I have years of practice at my own makeup and it makes me nervous that someone else will just do it however they want it done.

As far as hair, I'm thinking professional just so it is perfect, but I have a brunch wedding so it'll have to be someone available at 8am to do it lol.
