We’re getting married where we live!! Baton Rouge. He is from this area. I’m from MS and I’m trying to have a stress free wedding so everyone gets to come here to have a good time! Also we both want to go HOME after the ceremony! Lol

Thats kind of hard to answer. My fiancee grew up in the town where our wedding will be. I grew up in the next town, but my town was part of the school system of the town we're getting married in, so sorta kinda in a way we are

Yes, Well about 45 minutes outside of it. Most of our family is here with the exception of a few out-of-towners who are originally from here anyways so definitely a hometown wedding. It works better for us.

Nope! I moved about 20 minutes North of my hometown when we bought a house together in his and our wedding is about a half hour from where we currently live. We live in a valley and our wedding venue is on a mountain top. 😊

Nay, we didn't like any of the venues near our hometown, or they were used by a lot of our friends and we didn't want to be copy-cats!

Yes! About 0.4 miles from the hospital I was born at! I moved away when I was 8 but always loved it. We are getting married in the woods of Maine at the chapel that my dad used to preach at. It's small and rustic but so perfect for me. The chapel can't hold more than 80 people so we are hoping not too many people RSVP or we are going to have to open up the choir loft lol. Our reception is an Arts Exchange (basically a rehearsal space for local orchestras) and its actually surprisingly cheap! Only $1,200 for 12 hours and if I add a DJ for 6 hours, it's $1,700. Being in the middle of the woods with family has a lot of positive sides to it! My sister is a chef and will be catering 80 people for only $700, we can take pictures in my grandparents 80 acre forest and all of my family who is elderly and has missed many of my big life events (graduations, award ceremonies, etc.) will finally be able to celebrate with us! We live about 2,000 miles away but it's more than worth the plane tickets for us and our wedding party (who are also from 2,000 miles away lol.) Although we are college students and *very* broke, we are making our budget work by getting married in my hometown. Local everything! Cake from the baker who used to make donuts for my late grandfather to bring us on Saturday mornings growing up. Groomsmen suits from the same tailor who fit my dad and my brother for their proms and weddings. It's honestly such a beautiful thing walking into the stores and their faces light up because they are helping the next generation. I'm very excited!!

Nay! We are actually getting married on the other side of the state! We love vacationing there and I honestly just fell in love with our venue the moment I saw it. Also all of our family are from all over so everyone would have to travel and stay in hotels anyways. So with that in mind I decided to have it where I wanted instead!

We are getting married near Breckinridge CO where we took our first trip together and where my fiancé proposed on our 6 year anniversary. It’s a place we try to travel to at least once a year, it’s only about 2.5 hours from home, and we always have a lot of fun. We knew we wanted to get married in the mountains, so this was the perfect choice for us.

Nay! We are getting married in the city where we live (also where we met) because our home towns are both 3.5 hours away in different directions. So we're making everyone come to us! We considered one of our hometowns (leaned towards mine because it's a small town and would have been WAY cheaper than our current city of KC or fh's hometown of STL), but I didn't want to plan our wedding from out of town/state and KC is just a fun place to visit and has great venues. Our venue is about 5 minutes from our house and it can't get much closer than that!
