Are you having an after party?

Maggie, on January 23, 2019 at 9:05 AM Posted in Planning 0 30

Official wedding festivities might wrap up at bedtime, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be ready for the party to end. Are you having an after party? If you are, where’s it going to be?

Keep the party going here: Are you having an engagement party?, What’s your favorite bachelor/bachelorette party destination?, and Would you rather cut the shower or the bach party?

We are planning just a casual meet up at our fav tavern on the lake since we are having a luncheon wedding. We can have a break to come home and let the doggies out and then head to the bar after 6!

Not really an after party but our venue has a massage table, a hot tub, and a sauna so we are thinking of having a masseuse come in and using the other two as well. We paid for it so why not?

Haha, I can understand that, Melissa. I think in theory I'd like an after party, but in reality, I would just peace out after the reception.

We may just head up to our room after the reception ends at 10pm, but I’ve told guests they can hang out at the hotel’s bar till 1am if they want. Everything’s at the hotel, so it’s pretty convenient.

We aren't planning on one. It's going to be a long day as it is.

No after party for us! Our wedding will end around midnight and I know my FH and I will be exhausted and just want to head to the room to relax Smiley smile

We did! Our ceremony started at 4:30 and the reception was done at 7:30 so it wasn't a long day at all for anyone. We went out on the Vegas Strip and it was awesome! It was really cool with all the strangers congratulating us Smiley smile

My biggest thing was making sure to get a picture in front of the Bellagio Fountain! Not exactly a great picture but I have better ones saved at home lol

I like that idea too, letting everyone else party in celebration of you while you do what you want. Weddings are long days, especially for the couple getting married!

Our venue has a bar/'play' room kind of thing downstairs that will be open. Since our reception will be ending at 9pm, we are going to invite everyone who wants to stay downstairs to continue the party!

I'm still considering it. Our venue is offering to let you rent the bar for an after party for an additional cost but my wedding is already ending at midnight as it is. I have a few night owls in my crew but I'm not sure exactly how many would be down.

We are planning on having a bonfire on the beach for anyone who wants to stay after the reception (the reception is in a building on the beach). We are planning on doing S’mores as favors so people can bring them to the fire pit if they want to.

We’re planning on it! Our reception ends at 10 and if we’re not too tired, we’ll head downtown right from our venue. It’s less than 10 minutes from our venue, and there are a lot of fun bars and entertainment spots. Our hotel is also connected to a casino which has a great bar with live music every weekend, so we may go there instead. Either way, we’re hoping we aren’t too exhausted!

Absolutely! I've never been to a wedding that didn't have an after party....

Our wedding ends at 11 and we'll probably close down the hotel bar at 2 am. If there is still a group of us going at that point we will head to someone's hotel room for a while.
