Nope! MIL tried that but we convinced her to have her sister as her plus one instead of 4 of her friends we don't know.

Neither of our parents have friends which is nice on us. My parents only have my mom's high school class that they occasionally see and his parent's never really mention any friends, it's weird. So no we didn't have to.

I invited some of our family friends. They are technically my parents friends. But they are people who have been in my life for years. My FMIL invited some of her friends.

Parents on both sides have several friends on the list. I'm close to most of the ones my parents invited so I was glad my mom put them on our list!

I invited my mom's 2 best friends but only one is likely to show. FH's parents dont have a lot of close friends outside of the family.

Our wedding our guest list. Neither set of parents even asked about the guest list or tried to include people they know.

No. Only 1 couple is considered actual parent friends and those are my godparents. It is my dads best friend so its cool. My moms youngest brother is coming so they are both taken care of Smiley smile

Yes, I am. Most of my parents friends have known me my entire life, so they are part of our family.

Yes anyone not on my guest list invited by my parents, they are paying for and any other fees associated with that. Simple. I understand this is my parents time to shine and brag but not at my expense!

My mom basically wants to invite everyone she’s ever had the pleasure of meeting. Slight exaggeration, but she seriously checked the guest book from my dad’s funeral because I might have “left someone out.” That being said, I’m actually having my Dad’s two oldest friends be my “bridesmaids” to help honor his memory and have allotted my mom a certain number she can have to invite her friends.

This sounds terrible, but my parents don't really have friends. My dad has one, but I am not inviting him. FH's mom for sure invited some friends...
