Are you leaving for your honeymoon the day after the wedding?

FH wants to leave the day after the wedding. We are hoping to go to Europe, so our flight would be in the evening, and we would have to get to the airport sometime in the late afternoon. I feel like after having our wedding the night before, I might need a day to relax and get a few things taken care of before heading out on a vacation. Plus we will most likely be staying at the same hotel as our guests and having breakfast with them. When are you ladies leaving for the honeymoon? The next day, two days later, or much later?

We have a Saturday night wedding that is going to go really late so our flight on Sunday doesn't leave until 4pm.

We get married on a Saturday. We are staying the night at the same hotel as our friends and family. Sunday morning we have plans to wake up and do a breakfast/brunch at the hotel. We are only getting married 15-20 minutes away so we’ll drive home and have the rest of Sunday and Monday to relax, and we are off on an early flight Tuesday to Ireland : )

Nah, we'll already be at our mini-moon location w/in the resort. We're planning a honeymoon later on b/c our next adventure will be to buy a home.

We had the better part of a work week between the wedding and the HM. It was fine for us. I could do all the post-wedding stuff and make sure we were well-packed since school wasn't in session then (I'm a teacher), but DH had to go to work which wasn't a big bummer to him. Once we went on the HM it was nice to know we were coming back to a clean house, not a giant post-wedding "to do" list.

Our wedding is on a Sunday. Going home right after the reception then leaving Tuesday morning to fly to HI.

How did this go? I am leaving two hours after my reception. As in, the wedding ends at 10 and the plane leaves at midnight.
