Are you putting vases on your head table for bridal/bridesmaid bouquets?

LaurenVictoria, on July 13, 2013 at 10:50 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 12

Are you guys doing this? If so, what height vase are you using? I just realized I haven't thought about this at all but would like to do this. My vases for my centerpieces are tall and squared-- way too tall for bouquets. So I'm thinking to still do squared but not sure what height.

We are, but the florist is handling it so I'm no help. Sorry.

We are using mason jars, since it goes with our theme.

I didn't even know that people do this. We usually just place them in front of our setting at all the weddings I've participated in. Is having them in a vase going to distract from the person, or the table decor?

I am giving the vases (etching their monogram on them) to the girls and they will be set on the head table between each person. That way i dont really need much decoration on the head table! They are just a pretty standard vase.

Our florist is doing our general centerpieces, and they're tall, so there will be one on the head table (it's long not round) and then I will be adding a vase about 9-12" tall for each BM to put her bouquet in. Afterward they each get to take the vase home Smiley smile Hope that helps!

We are doing this. It's perfect because I have 5 bridesmaids and I'm spelling out LOVE on the head table so I'm just going to space it out perfectly. Why now use the flowers you've already paid for?

Our venue said they'd handle this, but really, there wasn't much to handle -- I didn't even notice what happened to the BM flowers, but since they were all in holders, they probably just put them on their table. (I know a previous wedding I went to with a head table did this, where we just placed them in front of us on the table.) Find out exactly how the bouquets will be designed first, I guess, to see if they really need vases, and if they really do, what shape/size will work best with the size/shape of the bouquets.

I had wanted to do this initially, but my decorator advised against it. She said that the bouquets on the head table are usually in the way of people taking photographs of the bridal party. She instead recommended just lying them on their sides (flowers facing towards the guest tables) to show off the flowers that way.

Our florist is providing us with boquet boxes that will be wrapped in ribbon and then we will be placing them on the large mantle in the room where our dinner will be.

The florist is doing something long and low with the head table. The girls will just lay their bouquets on the table. If you did vases, i'd make them as low as possible

I've seen holders (provided by the florist) that hang off the front of the table. It allows you to show off the flowers but add too much height to distract from the wedding party.
