Are you sending invitations to your siblings?

Tina, on March 5, 2014 at 10:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 35

...or since you already know if they're coming or not, no invitations are needed?

I would say still give them an invitation, but you can hand deliver if you want. My brother lives with us, so I am just handing him his invite once I get them printed.

My mom told me not to send one to my sister since she still lives at home but we are sending them to my FH's siblings who do not live at home and who are also part of the wedding.

I will. My sister (seven years old) is obsessed with getting stuff in the mail addressed to her, so I might even send an extra one specifically to her.

We are, as well as our whole wedding party. I thought they might want to save it and we need to know what they're eating.

Yes. Even the 15 year old will get his own ;-)

I'm a physical person, I'm gonna need RSVP's, not word of mouth or "they're my bro/sis, of course they'll be here"...plus, I think my sis(aka bm), would be super hurt that she didn't actually get an invitation.

^ Yeah, my sister is a bit psycho. If I didn't send her one, she wouldn't show up and then tell me she was never invited.

I hang out with them enough that I just showed them the invitation lol! And then gave them schedules of the wedding day.

We sent one to DH's sister and her fiance even though we knew they were coming. We got one to her wedding 6 months later even though I was the MOH and DH was an usher, DJ and MC. It's just a nice thing to do.

If you're planning to invite them, you should PROBABLY send them an invitation. To invite them. The only people who don't get invitations are the couple (and the hosts, if the couple isn't hosting).

My siblings were among the few people we invited. My brother and his wife got an invitation mailed to them. My sister lives in Mexico, where mail service is highly unreliable. I therefore mailed her an invitation and also scanned the invitation and e-mailed it to her.

I gave my parents one so they could keep it and my brother could care less if he gets one. On the other hand I sent my sister/MOH her own to my parents house with a personal letter to her on the back thanking her for always being there for me. She almost cried and I did this for my other two bridesmaids as well who were also brought to tears. I think that if you feel that your sibling would care if they got one then they can get their own (if you have enough to spare, we ordered more than we needed just in case) if they could care less like my bro and live at home then send one to your folks so they can treasure it!

Yes, absolutely. They need to know when/where to show up, and we need to know what to feed them! Annoyingly my older brother's got lost in the post so I have to make a new one for him.
