ARGH! I give up on these freaken DIY personalized hangers!

I can't seem to get it right and I'm getting really frustrated. I spent a lot of time drawing out the names. I bought some nice wooden hangers. I bought a bunch of 16 gauge ("2.74M") wires. Wasted a bunch because I couldn't get it right. I thought the wire was too thin. I went to a different craft store and bought the thickest ones available. Bag said "No. 2 3M"... and I still don't like how it came out. I also bought some really pretty butterflies to to hide where I attached it.

The two names I tried were "Adree" and "Cngo." The "o" in "Cngo" doesn't look like an "o." And I kept running out of wire.

I'm thinking of waiving the white flag and just buying one from a pro.

Pictures are of unfinished DIY. Why can't I get it right? (rhetorical Q. don't answer that.) I even tried using needle nose pliers. I taped up the pliers so it won't dent or strip the paint of the wire

These are rather 'vintage', but does one still get them for sale anywhere?

I bought my BM's dress hangers off of Etsy for $10 a piece. They turned out better than what I expected!

Those look good! I am not nearly as crafty as you, I found these on Etsy and think I'm going to "take the plunge" next month after we get our tax money back.

    1) You need 12 gauge wire. It is a little harder to work with though will make the bride's photo of the dress pop.

    2) Practice! When I first started, I looked at other pictures. That helps you see where you need to take a turn around a certain letter, and so on. Make sure that you have pliers! and a hammer.

    3) I have a pvc pipe that I balance the lettering on when I'm creating one.

    You'll be fine!
