Armpit Flab in Strapless Dress

Brittany, on April 10, 2014 at 3:59 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 14

For the most part I am happy with my body in my dress. The one area I am concerned about is that flab I get near my armpits when I'm in anything strapless. What can I do to get rid of it? I am adding Cap Sleeves to my dress but am worried that it won't cover it or it'll just make it look worse. What should I do?

The one thing I can think of is to start toning exercises with some weights. If you firm up, you'll have less flab there. Although that's a hard area to get toned up!

Get a different bra/corset. seriously, go to one of those froo froo stores and buy something for $100. world of difference.

Planks and swimming (if you have access to a pool). I agree that cap sleeves may make the arms look worse...I'm having tulle sleeves built, with an illusion neckline.

ps. Great article Gamecox...tricep dips...OMG despise them but they work!

Pull your veil over your shoulders for pictures. Covering makes a world of difference. Ask your photographers about poses where FH's hand is on your upper arm (especially if it's his left (ring) hand). It's all about distraction, (and photoshop, of course!)

If you belong to a gym, it may be worth it to invest in a personal trainer for the next couple of months. They can help you really target areas without hurting yourself in the process, even if you only do a couple sessions with them and do the rest on your own.

Visit the lingerie department in a good department store or bridal shop and ask about corset/bra options. The right fitting undergarments can help with the last couple stubborn issues. (Believe me, we all hear you here!)

I would think that maintaining good posture would help significantly, in addition to well fitting undergarments.

Diet and exercise can help but armpit fat can be genetic. Exhibit A: Stacey Keibler. She has a perfectly toned body but the grosses armpits ever.

If you are really concerned I would just make sure your alterations are carried out to perfection.

I just google imaged her and exhibit b is that they photoshop the hell out of her pictures. Not one picture where you could tell that.

I typed in "Stacey Keibler Armpit" and got a few ;P Not sure what I'm laughing about; I have the same problem, only I have flab everywhere else, too...damn you, chocolate...

I'm starting the "Starvin Marvin" diet soon; lots and lots of lettuce. And air. Air is good...

The lady doing my alterations said that almost everyone has "poochie poochies" (her term for armpit fat, lol), even skinny girls.

She recommended that I get my dress in a longer length so when she alters it to cover my armpit fat, it won't be too short.

Do some triceps exercises at the gym with some hand weights. As the ladies also mentioned, there are also a ton of great body weight exercises that involve your triceps and can tone your arms. Good luck Smiley smile
