Asbury Park Bachelorette

Gabrielle, on June 12, 2017 at 11:54 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

Hey ladies! My bachelorette is this weekend, and unfortunately, it looks like it's not going to be beach weather. Any suggestions for rainy day activities in or near Asbury Park? I've been there a bunch of times, but looking for hidden gems aside from shopping & restaurants.

My MOH is amazing and working on this, but she is busy planning her own wedding as well, so would love to give her a few ideas to take away some stress because we had been planning to spend a lot of time at the beach/pool.

Hmm.. There is an arcade on the boardwalk if you're into that. If you like to drink, Bond Street Bar opened another, larger location that has games and stuff, and there is a bar in Convention Hall called the Anchor's Bend that is on the beach but has an indoor and covered outdoor area. There are plenty of places to hang out that aren't restaurants. Maybe see if there are any concerts or shows at the Stone Pony while you will be there?

Eta all this is assuming you mean Asbury Park, New Jersey. Others may have better suggestions since I'm a grandma who never goes out anymore.

A fun day activity could be glass blowing at Hot Sand (http://www.hotsandap.com/) . I went there once with a friend, we had a good time but we're into crafty-artsy things.

There's a pinball museum on the boardwalk. Watermark is nice for fancy drinks. Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten is nice for hanging, but it's not by the boardwalk. There's a good gelato place on the main street, I forget the name. It might be Lola’s European Cafe.

I don't know what your taste in music is, but the Stone Pony has a few shows this weekend:

You can still walk the boards, have a drink at the Wonder Bar, and the Asbury Biergarten. The weather may change by then, you never know!
