Asheville Welcome Party Locations

Mary, on January 9, 2020 at 12:07 PM Posted in North Carolina Planning 1 7

My fiance and I are getting married in Asheville in October, and are looking to host a welcome "happy hour" for around 50 people the night before. We'd like the event to be casual, with heavy appetizers and simple drinks. The space doesn't necessarily need to be a private room, but we'd like to guarantee a space together for our around 50 guests. Does anyone have suggestions of restaurants or bars that would be a good fit for this? Most restaurants with private rooms seem to have a per person minimum or fixed menu that are over our budget.

Thanks!

Maybe try a brewery? Not from Asheville, just someone who visits often Smiley smile

I was thinking that too, I'm familiar with Asheville but thought someone might know specifically where can accommodate group of 50. Thanks!

I had my wedding and rehearsal dinner at the Lodge at Bear River which is north of Asheville. They can do any number of guests but you would have to figure out rentals and catering.

This is a nice way of welcoming guests and giving them a chance to mix and mingle ahead of the wedding day Smiley smile There are some great bars in the area you can check out on TripAdvisor if this helps!

Does your wedding venue have a bar or area where you could have this? Or would you rather not have it in the same place?

Not sure if you have found anywhere yet... but here are a few of my favorite spots in Asheville that maybe good options for what you are talking about having...

    Chestnut

    Table

    Zambra

Here are 3 different options. Chestnut is more high end (really good!), Table is right in the middle (also very good!), and Zambra is a really cool Tapas place.

Hi! We are also getting married in Asheville, but in May. We were having trouble finding a place for our rehearsal dinner that didn't have over the top rental fees in addition to what we would pay for food and drink for 45-50 people and we just happened by a brewery called The Collaboratory. They have a neat room in the back that can be closed off, or it can be left open to lead into the main area. They don't charge any rental fees, you just have to pay for food and drink (they are very reasonably priced for per person open bar fee if you are looking for that- and it's a full bar). Its a casual, laid back place, the food was good and the service was too when we went. We are having a mingle hour for everyone after the rehearsal dinner is over as well.

    Hope this helps!

Try one of the rooftop bars! You might be able to rent out a space and it gives incredible views of the city.
