Asile runner on dirt?

Robin, on January 29, 2020 at 10:00 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
Hi everyone,

I am having my ceremony in a Forrest like area and will have to walk through dirt with a train on my dress. I don’t have very many small children in my family so I can’t have anyone carry it & I like the idea of an asile runner but worry about how unstable they can be.
Fiancé does not like the idea of an Astro turf asile. Not sure what else to do besides getting an actual rug.
Do you have any brilliant ideas? Or tips for asile runners on dirt? Let me know, I’ve got about 6 months to figure something out.

Pavers from amazon that lock together that you could use later in a garden path? They have pretty cheap ones that look fancy!

Do you have any photo's of the area to give us a better idea of the space you are working with?

I'm getting married on a farm and have a similar problem. And most aisle runners are only 3foot and my train is wider than that. I'm going to buy a canvas drop cloth that is 9x24 and split it in half and sew it together to be 4.5x48 and then decorate it myself using a cricut there are a few people online I've seen do it, and it seems to be easier to walk on than some alternatives

I actually think a rug (or sets of rugs) would be cool and different. It would be easier to use and would definitely stay down as you walk down the aisle. Otherwise if you do decide to Usa a runner, I think you’re going to want to stake it down since the ground would be so uneven. Also, you can get your bridesmaids, mom, close friends, etc to help with the train, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a kid Smiley smile

I might be a minority on this one ... i wouldn't get anything.

I hired a decorator for our outside ceremony area - this was a concern for me as well. but he told me that aisle runners or anything over the ground could be difficult to walk over. if your heel gets stuck in it or you trip - sometimes its better to have nothing. I ordered heel protectors from amazon for the grass so i didn't sink in the dirt. AMAZING! i would recommend those. before you walk down the aisle have someone fluff out your train so the dirt is only on the underside of it.

I am going to do a lace aisle runner but going to purchase some tent stakes and have them to hold it in place. perhaps you could also have a bussle to keep your dress up when you are not walking down the aisle.
